koshi sugawara x female reader theatre au
i don't know too much about volleyball , but i do know about theatre, so that's what i'll write about :)

"you know, if you and koshi weren't dating by now, you'd owe me tickets to a show in tokyo," toru bugged y/n as the karasuno kids entered seijoh for their rehearsal for the spring musical, a small symbol that their third and final year of high school was coming up soon
"well we are dating, and we went to tokyo either way," y/n stated
"...true. speaking of, where is your boyfriend, i need to get into another legal argument with him,"
"you mean complain about your 'divorce' and beg for the kids back even though it's obvious that those kids are 'his'," y/n rolled her eyes
"woah, you're keeping up with the lore?" toru was shocked
"koshi tells me all about it," she sighs with a laugh
"okay, but the kids are mine,"
"how about you stop whining about a fake relationship and focus on your actual boyfriend who loves you," iwa said putting his arm around toru and kissing his cheek
"o-okay," he stuttered while blushing. though together for almost a year, toru still gets very excited when iwa shows affection, mainly because he doesn't do it super often
a table was set up in the middle of the stage, and to intermingle the schools, they put an orange or blue piece of paper on the back of each chair to specify where to sit depending on what school you go to. y/n, of course, sat near toru, iwa, and koshi. the classic theatre clique of the leads, which they lowkey hated
it was just a read through today, nothing too big, but they still gave it their all, treating every rehearsal like a performance. though it wasn't much of a read through since about all the dialogue is in songs. those with lines were asked to read the lines with the track, and everyone was asked to sing along. it wasn't entirely a memorable rehearsal, but it was a great read-through. everyone was having fun, except for maybe one person. koshi's understudy. it's shota amano's third year, and he lost his lead role to some karasuno second year.
"you did very well, sugawara," amano said, not even looking in his direction
"thanks, amano," suga replied, knowing that amano had no sincerity in his compliment.
"i will see you next rehearsal," amano said and turned the other direction
"that guy's always had a stick up his ass, he got the lead in summer and fall, so he thought he'd get it this time," iwa rolled his eyes
"he tried making things up about me when i got cast as charlie brown first year, saying that i was a bitch to everyone in middle school and that i think i'm better than everyone," toru also rolled his eyes, shota amano was a theatrical problem.
since iwa puts "shit" into everyone's names, they now call him shita amano behind his back, nobody needs to know that.
