"ok! first read through, are we all ready?" takeda announced with ukai sitting relaxed in the chair next to him, seeming relatively unbothered. a chorus of excitement came from the students, signifying the start of a new show.

the cast was given their scripts and the leads and other named roles immediately grabbed their highlighters and found their lines.

"okay, i guess we'll give you a few minutes to do that," takeda laughed, "daichi, i'm sorry you might not be able to finish, we gave you a lot,"

"yeah, i can tell," daichi said, highlighting his opening monologue.

"alright, why don't we get started," takeda announced after a few minutes, most of the leads weren't finished, but they flipped back to scene one anyway

glances from the first-year prodigy toward the third-year, playing her husband was the closest tobio kageyama could get to any kind of romance with y/n l/n. he was looking forward to the blocking, the intimate scenes he would have with her. but he knew it was just acting, and he knew that she felt nothing toward him.

koshi sugawara gave the same looks to her, the only difference was that she returned those looks with the same bright smile that he gave her. everyone in karasuno theatre knew they were together, unlike daichi and yui, who wanted their relationship to be private but not secret. koshi would let the world know that he was with y/n if he could, she is his pride and joy, and she is the one who's there for him when he can't support himself. they can easily and truly describe each other as the love of their life

"wow," ukai said after everyone closed their scripts

"is that a good wow or a bad one?" y/n asked

"that's up to your interpretation," he shrugged

"it was a good one, that's for sure," takeda rolled his eyes

"it was a bad one for you, l/n," ukai replied jokingly. it's frowned upon for directors to have their favorites, but since ukai was the choreographer, he favored the ones who picked up his choreography and make it their own, y/n was one of those dancers.

"no, y/n, you did beautifully," takeda said, not picking up on ukai's sarcasm, "we'll start with blocking tomorrow, we'll only need daichi, y/n, tobio, and yui for the first scene, yui and y/n can leave after we're done with that one, but we'll need asahi and moa for the second scene. i'll give everyone an updated calendar on what scenes we're doing and who we'll need for them. see you all soon, bye!'
