Jae immediately felt a sharp pain in her arm once she woke up. What was more strange however, was that she felt a sense of familiarity from the bed she was in. It didn't feel like the beds in the cabin.

Feeling groggy, she gently felt around next to her with the arm that wasn't in a sling, hoping to feel another warm body near her. When she only felt her own sheets, her eyes snapped open. She was unpleasantly surprised to see a familiar canopy above her.

All of the frightening events came flooding back in her head as she came to the realization: she was back in her room. She was back home. Well, that wasn't the right word for it. If not for her arm, she would have wondered if her time spent with her seven soulmates had all been a lovely dream. But it wasn't a dream, and she was waking up to her worst nightmare.

She was back in the room where she spent countless nights crying herself to sleep, countless hours spent by herself. Always keeping busy somehow, even if it meant cleaning her room over and over again just so the harmful thoughts wouldn't be so overwhelmingly loud. Needless to say, her room was always spotless.

If she was back here, where were they? What happened to them? She winced as she felt her arm flare up at the slightest movement, but kept getting out of bed anyway. She was in a nightgown, and she wondered who fixed up her arm and changed her clothes. There was no way it had been her father.

She rushed to the door, not thinking about anything except locating her soulmates. She swung the door open, and the hallway was quiet, almost eerily so. She didn't sense any staff nearby, which was odd. She wasn't sure exactly what time it was, but there was always at least a distant sound of footsteps somewhere. However, as much as she waited to hear even the smallest sound, she heard nothing.

Whatever, it doesn't matter. I just have to find them. Fast. she thought. It's not like her father would treat them like guests. The very thought of her being under the same roof as him again sent a chill down her spine. As she walked through the corridors of the mansion, trying to avoid being seen by anyone that might pass by, she tried to not let her mind think of the worst possibilities.

She wondered where Heyrin was. She knew she would help if she could. She turned a corner and heard a familiar beeping sound. Her heart suddenly felt heavy, as she remembered that was where her mother's room was. Ah, so you're still sleeping peacefully.

Her eyes dampened as she crept by the room. As much as she wanted to see her, her boys might be in danger, and right now she had to put them first. I'll come back and see you before I leave mom. Don't worry.

She wasn't even sure where she was going in the giant mansion but she just wanted a sign, something, to let her know where they were. The mark on her arm was burning, and as she tiptoed down the staircase, she noticed it started to burn a little less. That was a good sign, that meant she was getting closer.

She stopped mid step as she heard her father's voice ring out. It was harsh, demanding, and cold. He was talking to someone, that much was clear. Was it coming from his study? No, that was on the opposite side. She peaked around the banister, and saw two double doors that were slightly cracked open.

"Tell me hybrid, what did you do to my daughter?  I'll only ask you once more before I turn you back around and use this again." She felt dizzy. He said hybrid. She started to move towards the door. Moving her injured arm, she burst through the double doors, revealing her father holding a whip, while glaring angrily at the hybrid who's hands and feet were bound with chains. Actual chains.
