Kristen's POV
As much as Kristen loved her best friend Aiden and wanted to see him, she was so tired of going to clubs. Kristen had spent her entire week at her job, Winter's Jazz Club in Chicago working as the lead singer with the band by the same name. Every Wednesday to Sunday from four in the afternoon to midnight she sings for the crowd, so the idea of spending her Monday off work in another club was draining. Even though it wasn't the club she worked at tonight, instead it was Andy's Jazz Club and Restaurant. So because she loved Aiden she put on one of her classic lilac cocktail dresses, tight nude winter tights, white heels, and headed to the orange line train, got off at State and Lake in the loop and headed to west Hubbard street.
Under the lights of the Chicago streets Kristen's silver jewelry glittered against her skin. When she makes it to Andy's they ask for her table name. She gives the name 'Aiden Allen' and another employee walks her to her table. Before she can even reach the table she hears her name ring out from one of the tables right in front.
"Kristen Isabella Brisbane! You are a sight for sore eyes," There stands Aiden waiting for her with open arms. When Kristen reaches him, he takes her in his arms and holds her to him, his smell is warm and familiar, woodsy and classic, the fabric of his coat suit warm against Kristen's cheek. Even with Kristen in her heels Aiden's 5'8 frame towered over Kristen.
When Aiden released her, he pulled out the chair beside him and Kristen smiled and looked over at everyone at the table.
It was a small get together beside Aiden was Derrick, his current boyfriend and current submissive. Derrick was a cute early twenty-something biracial guy with curly hair and freckles all over his face. He was lanky, 5'6, and all legs, today he wore a white button up and black slacks and shoes. He grinned at Kristen.
"Good to see you again Kristen,"
Kristen grinned back at him and gave him a wink.
"So Kristen!" Aiden said, getting her attention again "This is Nicole Abshire, I'm not sure if you guys have officially met before."
Aiden was a party thrower, whether they were at his house, at a club, or a backyard thing. Aiden always had people around him, with Kristen being his best friend she had seen a few of his friends before, Nicole was no different.
Kristen turned her head so she could get a good look at Nicole, they had seen each other and interacted at house parties thrown by Aiden but Kristen didn't think she had ever seen Nicole with a somber mind.
Nicole was a brown skinned woman with a heart shaped face, thick black eyebrows, small bridge nose, and full heart shaped lips. As Kristen looked at her she gave her smile, her cheeks were larger when she smiled but her jawline stayed sharp, even under the changing lights of the club Kristen could tell she had done her makeup to the level of a ten. Blush and contour complemented her cheeks and her smoky eyeshadow brought the attention to her sharp almond shaped, dark brown eyes.
"We've seen each other around, how are you doing Kristen?" Nicole said her voice was smooth like velvet, warm and commanding.
Kristen smiled back at her "I'm doing okay, thanks for asking,"
Aiden huffs "That's a lie, Nicole, don't listen to her."
Nicole switches her eyes from Kristen to Aiden "Is that true?"
"Yep, that's why I invited her out tonight, she's miserable since her last relationship failed." Aiden said turning
"Hey!" Kristen snapped "First of all, I'm not even mad that it didn't work out. I was just disappointed."
