A/N: hi guys i'm sorry i've been away for so long but my mental health is at an all time low. This is the hardest breakup i've ever been through and moving away from the woman I loved and losing my home has been really really really fucking hard. I don't want to abandon this story but it's so hard to find the WILL to sit and write characters who are so in love and they don't even know it yet. I hope you enjoy this chapter.

SLIGHT TRIGGER WARNINGS FOR THIS CHAPTER: There's talk of chronic illness, being sick, piss, throwing up, etc. It's not downright nasty but maybe you hate reading about these topics/actions so I thought to give a fair warning. Fluff at the end and latching. Please enjoy. :)

Kristen's POV

"I'm fine actually," Kristen says, she was more than fine, she was buzzed on champagne and kisses from her Mommy. "I get that she was trying to be mean to me to get me away from you, but the only one who can send me away is you, Mommy,"

The couple were still dancing the night away after Iris had said some unkind words about her daughter. Nicole's shoulders were up again after she had finally relaxed from the car ride! If Kristen had it in her she would've cussed out the older woman. Kristen had a feeling that Nicole's relationship with her mom was a lot heavier than she previously explained but she didn't want to push her for information, especially here at a ball! Wrong place, wrong time.

"I shouldn't have brought you here,"

Kristen shook her head at Nicole "No, that's bullshit, we're on a date! This is my very first ball! I feel like a princess, you should too."

Nicole smiled softly at her sub, "I wish I had your optimism,"

"Here, lemme, give you some." Kristen steps out of Nicole's arms, places her hand over her heart then pulls her hand up dramatically like she's holding an invisible ball of energy. She uses her other hand to mold the invisible energy into a shape, then with both hands presses the shape into Nicole's chest.

Nicole plays along once Kristen's hands are on her chest Nicole arches her back like the energy has been pushed into her, she gasps dramatically and looks up at the fancy chandeliers above them, then looks at her hands and finally back at Kristen.

"You did it! You gave me some of your optimism! Thank you! I see everything much clearer now." Nicole says leaning in and giving Kris a kiss on the cheek.

Kristen giggled, her happiness leaking through her. She wasn't used to having a partner play into her silly side like Nicole did. It always felt so good to be so childlike and play with imagination.

The couple spent the whole night together, dancing, laughing, and avoiding their parents. When the night came to an end Kristen was sad it was over so soon but was happy to see how as the night got closer to a close, Nicole relaxed more and more. It was more important for her domme to have a happy headspace than for Kristen to dance to one more song.

The ride home was quick and Kristen got a few kisses before heading up upstairs apartments stairs up to her small one bedroom apartment. She went to the bathroom, took off her makeup, and was excited to go back to normal life because that was suddenly more exciting knowing her domme would be there beside her.

***

The couple went back to their normal lives indeed, Kristen starts feeling ill again the very next day and it lingers into the rest of the week. It starts with these odd belly twinges and then not feeling very hungry; the belly twinges feel close to anxiety twinges. So at first she doesn't pay attention to them, until one night while texting her domme Nicole asked if she had dinner already. Kristen replies that she hadn't felt hungry all day, when Nicole then tells her to eat something - inserting her domme care - Kristen does so and goes to bed. The next morning she wakes with her stomach more upset than it had been in weeks. She couldn't get back to sleep even though her body felt weak and shaky.
