KRISTEN'S POV
Kristen sang that night with more raw passion than the previous night. Kristen felt like her body had been sent aflame. She had done her research about sex parties and dungeons; She knew they were something that turned her on but she didn't even think they would be in her wheel park so soon. She felt flushed just over the idea of what she could possibly see there.
What did she want to see? What did she want to wear? Will she see anyone she knows there?
Her mind raced with the possibilities, something about the whole experience excited her.
She didn't mind begging her boss for the unexpected night off and promised her team she would bake them their favorite chocolate chip cookies (the one thing Kristen baked well.) as they prepared a new setlist that would still suit without her jazzy vocals.
Kristen was being fed in every possible way, musically she felt more inspired to write more love songs, songs about passion, songs about her lover's scent. She was in the process of recording new songs to new beats she had recently discovered while spending time with Nicole. The differences between them were becoming thinner as Nicole's interests began appearing in Kristen's music. It was still pop music, but with more Techno and R&B influences. Kristen was being fulfilled sexually and yet she still couldn't get enough. She loved that her body would feel a little sore and a little stiff after days of sessions. She loved seeing love bites across her pale skin, she watched them as they changed color and faded, she always smiled fondly at them.
Kristen was so busy now, she spent time at work preparing music for a live audience, then will go home to work on music for other artists, and then spent her free time outside of music looking at Nicole's apartment complexes for the one with the best qualities for what Kristen wanted and needed in an apartment in the city of Chicago.
Kristen knew she wanted to be close to any nearby station less than a ten minute walk if she could help it, one with open spaces where she could work from home outside of her own apartment, a large gym where she could get back into strength training, private spaces for her to record music, and a pool.
If Kristen was going to be living in the best city in the world and be living rent free for the foreseeable future she would absolutely get the best she possibly could. Living in Chicago was so expensive but so worth it for the creative that Kristen was, the idea of not spending a thousands of dollars monthly meant that she could actually start building a real savings account.
So as Kristen sang she thought about how her life had been changing and how much more joy and expressiveness she felt, she felt more alive than ever.
"How would you guys feel tonight if I sang something original I've been working on? I want to see if you guys like what I'm getting at." Kristen asked the crowd, the ones who were paying attention began to clap for her, while others continued eating or having their conversations. Kristen grinned and moved her way to the middle of the stage. Tonight she had two drummers, two guitarists, a saxophonist and a pianist beside herself. It was a bigger band than usual but she enjoyed the way the instruments all pulled together as they started on her original song.
The drums start on a solo four by four, flooding the club with the bass of the song. As it continues on its loop, my pianist comes in and flies her fingers down the keys to create a lazy drip of a line of music. It sounds like jazz but played through an old video game, Kristen grins as her head moves with the music. She lets the music build inside her as she opens her mouth to sing.
"Baby, got me having dreams 'about you,
The way you wrap your arms around me, nobody knows...
