Chapter 39

Grace's POV

3 months later

On the phone with her assistant

"Mmhm yeah I know the company is taking a dive but I'm 3 months Pregnant!" I said to my Assistant

I've been ordered by my doctor to not do anything involving work as it was stressful and harmful for the baby so I've giving it all to my assistant see I'm part owner of the company and Brian was the other owner but he decided to give his shares up and retire leaving him with a pretty big pay out and me the soul owner of the company that makes billions. I understand why he did it though he has a 3 month old baby at home who needs lots of attention. I thought this was going to be easy that I could just be pregnant and work but now I'm not so sure I've never knew how much the company depended on Brian till now.

I talked to Kim about everything and she told me that I need to ask Alex for help but I just don't want to put everything on her she's already been so amazing cooking, cleaning get the kids to and from school making doctor appointments ,handling the bills she seems to have everything under control I can't just put everything on her and sit here doing nothing.

"Ok look I'm coming to the office to fix this" I said to my assistant before hanging up I slipped out of bed which might I add was no easy task I'm only 3 months and my belly all ready looks like an hot air balloon

I grabbed my shoes which was a struggle to put on god I hate this after about and hour of trying to put on my shoes then I went out of the room grabbing my jacket and keys my only mistake was thinking that Alex was out.

I got to the door but was stoped by Alex walking out of the kitchen drying her hands no doubt from doing the dishes. "Hey your not supposed to be up she said I sighed knowing that I'm caught.

I turned around slowly "heyyyy babe" I said  she looked at me with one eyebrow raised "what are you doing out of bed missy" she said with her hands resting on her hips while tapping her foot. "I uh was just going to go to the store" I said clearly lying

"Oh what do you want I'll go for you" she offered

"You know it's fine I can do it" I said in my squeaky voice something I did often when under pressure or in my case lying, I turned around and went for the door but she stopped me. Grabbing my hand gently I turned around and she warped her arms around my waist. "I know when your lying" she said gazing into my eyes thoughtfully, "what's going one love" she said with that soft tone I love so much. I sighed unable to resist "The company it's in trouble some of the employees and other companies whom we partnered with is having Doubts" I explained

"Well Doubts about what" she asked

"Me you know I'm not exactly in working shape" I said glancing down at my oversized belly.

"Oh love why didn't you tell me I could-" she started to say but I cut her off by finishing her sentence "help? Yeah I knew you'd say that, that's exactly why I didn't want to tell you you've already been doing so much I just didn't want to add to it" I said looking down she took my hands in hers. "Your my wife and When I said "I do" I promised to always take care of you I know this may be hard to believe but I'm ok with doing everything because I'd do anything for you and the kids" she said I smiled and looked up at her.

"Look I can take over for you I'm on a 8 month leave from basketball and you due in one more month I can keep things running till you have our sweet baby then once your ready you can go back" she suggested

"I ask you to do that" she said

"Your not I'm offering, call the office tell them I'm coming in" she said giving me a kiss on the forehead before walking to our room not giving me a chance to object. I sighed and grabbed my phone to tell them I was sending someone in.
