3. Well This is Awkward

As you near the entrance to the Casa Madrigal, you hear a woman frantically mumbling to herself inside. When the door opens, the woman passes through with a literal storm cloud above her head, raining down on her. You look at Dolores, shocked, and she simply says,
"Yeah, that's Pepa. She does that sometimes."

As much as you want to make sure the woman is ok, you follow Dolores into the house. When you enter the kitchen, you see a boy your age on his hands and knees, cleaning up the remains of a stack of broken glass plates. Dolores shuffles over to him and delivers a quick smack in the back of the head.

"Owww!" He exclaims, covering the back of his head with his hands.
"You knew that you weren't supposed to carry so many plates at a time!" Dolores yells. You gaze at him in astonishment.
"Sorry, I was just trying to get things done fast so I could go to the party."

He looks up at Dolores with an angry look. Then he looks over at you. This is the first time you've seen his whole face. He stares at you, surprised. You look away as if you've done something wrong, but he continues to look at you, confused but interested.

Is it getting hot in here? He seems to be staring into your soul. Don't be silly...he can't do that. Dolores breaks his stare.

"If you wanna go to the party, then just ask Mirabel to do it. You know how she is when it comes to helping out."
"Well, sorry for not doing it YOUR WAY," he says to Dolores, throwing away the last of the glass.
They glare at eachother for a moment. Then they look at you. With a worried face, you awkwardly smile at them and wave. Dolores sighs.

"Camilo, take this girl back to the party."
You look at her, with a scared look on your face.
"Uh, is there any possibility that I could just... you know... not?"

They both look at you in astonishment. Dolores starts talking.
"Well, you can't stay here. Everyone is going to be leaving in a bit."
"Oh...." You look at the ground in disappointment. "In that case, I'll just go down to the river. Thank you for having me." You start to walk away, when Dolores stops you.

"Wait. Camilo will go with you. It's not safe to be out there this late at night."
"Wait, what?" Camilo says suddenly, surprised. You look up, and Camilo looks away. How long had he been staring?

"That's right," says Dolores, "You should be a gentleman and watch out for this girl."
"Oh... ok." He says hesitantly. Dolores looks at him, surprised.

He looks up at you again and smiles awkwardly. You smile in return. It's definitely getting hot. Soon, Dolores rushes the two of you out the door, and you're on your way.
