31. Stop smiling

Day 6

Today, you wake up feeling excited. You hop out of bed, get dressed, and check the clock only to see that it's 6:30. Hm... It's a bit early.

'Well, I'm already up,' you think. Slipping on your shoes, you decide to head out the door. When you run through the house, your mom isn't awake. Perfect.

While you're walking down the street, you notice that the town is already busy at work. However, you know from listening to Camilo that the Madrigals don't go out until at least 8:00.

When you reach Casita, it opens its doors for you, welcoming you in. You immediately run up the stairs, trying not to make a ruckus. After arriving at Camilo's door, you go to knock but stop yourself when you hear a noise.

It wasn't a loud, annoying noise, but rather a soft, melodic noise. Was he... singing? You open the door slightly, only letting a sliver of light through. This should be enough to hear him. Now you can tell that he is in fact singing... but you don't recognize the song. It doesn't sound like anything you've ever heard before. You begin to listen to the lyrics.

"... I'm slowly falling,
falling on my knees.
but I'm too scared to
ask you how you feel.
If you don't love me
that's ok, but please
just know that I'm here
whenever you need."

The song ends. Dang, you got there too late. Who was he singing about? Hopefully it's you. After waiting for a moment, you decide to finally close the door back, and knock.

"Who is ittt?"
"It's y/n!" you yell at the door.
You hear footsteps, then the door opens.
"W-" He looks at the clock. "It's 7AM! What are you doing here???"
"I don't know."

"Oh, ok. By the way, how much of that did you hear?"
"How much of what, now?"
"Ehhhh- nevermind."
"Wh- nooo! Tell meee!"
"I said nevermind!"

You make a pouting face at him. He ignores you.

"By the way, I have some things to do in town today. You can tag along if you want. Otherwise, you can hang out with Mirabel."
"Oh, ok. Actually, that doesn't sound like a bad idea."
"Hm?"
"Maybe I can hang out with Mirabel or something. I haven't really talked to her that much."

"Oh. Pffffffft- honestly, she's kind of a," he pauses, runs to Mirabel's room, and yells: "LOSERRR."
"IT'S 7AM, CAMILO," a voice screams from inside the room.

You both laugh.
"Anyways," you start, "whatcha wanna do in the meantime?"
"Well... we could go to the bakery."
"Pffffffft- the bakery's not open yet, stupid. It doesn't open until 8."
"Oh."
You giggle. He can't help but crack a smile.

Camilo POV:
Her laugh is so cute... Wait, why am I smiling?

He tries to dissolve his smile, but he can't help it. This causes you to laugh even more.

Y/n POV:
His smile is so cute...

"Stop smiling, Camilo!"
"I can't!"
By this point you're both bent over laughing.

"How about you stop smiling," he proposes.
"I can't!!!"

When you both collect yourselves, you look at eachother. This simple interaction is all it takes to send you back into a spiral of laughter.

After laughing for another 5 minutes, you hear Mrs. Julieta calling to him from the kitchen.

"We should go."
