22. Teasing

The kids start shouting frantically as Camilo is still holding you in his arms, staring at you with confusion.

"Uhhh- No! I-i-it's not like that-" he says, slowly letting you down.
"Mhm, suuure," another kid says.
"Seriously. Anyways, who wants to play again?" He asks, turning towards the crowd of children.

The children begin running off again, trying to find a place to hide.

"By the way, you're kinda heavy." He whispers.
"Nah, you're just kinda weak," you joke, punching him in the arm. "Go hide."

He looks at you, confused, then runs off. After counting down, you open your eyes and look around. You immediately spot 2 kids who were hiding in the same spot as before.

You look around some more, and within 5 minutes you've found the kids... Except for Camilo. You decide to tease him a bit.

"Camilo," you start in a mocking tone. "Come on out~"

No response.

"Mi amor~" You shout, looking back and winking at the children. Their faces light up, and they can tell that you're just taunting him. Suddenly, you hear a small noise coming from the bathroom.

You look in, seeing nothing. It's a pretty big bathroom. You continue to call for him, using mocking names.

"Where are you... mi vida?"
The children snicker. You hear another small noise, this one sounding like a smack.

You turn toward the direction of the sound.
It came from below the sink. As you're about to open the cabinet, you begin a sentence:

"Where are you, mi..." You suddenly swing the cabinet door open, "CORAZÓN!!!"

Camilo lets out a small yelp. He's sitting in the corner with a hand clasped over his mouth, breathing heavily. You become concerned.

"Are you alright?" You ask him, shooing the children out of the bathroom.
"Y-yeah. I'm fine..." he says crawling out of the cabinet.

Camilo pov:
Phew- that was close... Why would she say those things? Was she really making fun of me in front of the kids?

"That's kinda suspicious, but ok," you say, squinting at him.

After a few more rounds, the parents come back, and take over. You stand there for a moment, waiting for Camilo to finish his conversation with the mother. As they talk, you look around.

Suddenly, you see... the person... who followed you before. They must have noticed you too, because they start walking in your direction.

You frantically begin to tug on Camilo's yellow ruana. He finishes up his conversation quickly, then turns to you.

"We should go," you say sharply.
"What? Why?"
"I-I...just need to talk to you."
"Oh- ok."
You grab his hand, not thinking, and lead him back to his house.
"What's going on?" He asks as you pull him into his room.

"I saw them."
"Saw who?"
"The person."
"What person?"
"The person."
"You mean-"
"The person from last night."
"OH."
"Yeah."
"Also, I need to ask you a question."
"Hm?"

"Why did you look so panicked when I opened the cabinet?"
"Wh- OH. I was just confused and scared you'd find me."
"Why confused?" You say, leaning in.
"Uhm-" He stops.

You stare at him until he continues.

"You were calling me those names." He begins to blush lightly.
"Yeah, to make you all flustered so you're easy to find."
"Well, it worked, I guess," he laughs.

For the rest of the evening, you chat and laugh until it's time for you to go home.

"See you tomorrow!" you yell as you walk out the door. You had no plan for the following week, but you knew it was gonna be great.
