Tikki's POV
Plagg perks up."Whatever" he says. "So what's first?"
"Alright put yourself in my shoes. Your stuck in a miraculous. Your boyfriend is having a panic attack. He's freaking out and there's no one to help you. You're all alone and the only thing you can think of to calm him down is to tap into his mind and alleviate some pain. Then he freaks out and gets mad at you" I say maybe a little too aggressively.
"Fair," He shrugs.
"Then what are you mad about?" I say in exasperation.
"Tik you know how important it is to tap into someone else's mind"
"Well yeah but...I was just trying to help. I thought you trusted me enough. But whatever I guess not. Moving on," I sigh. I don't want to stay on this subject for too long...
"Listen Sugarcube it's not that I don't trust you. I'm not the type to open up about my feelings. I don't like talking about my feelings. But I especially hate it when I feel like a burden to somebody else who feels responsible for me or my feelings. When you tap into my mind, your taking centuries worth of negative emotion from me and I can't let that happen."
"Plagg I know what I'm doing. When I tapped into your mind, I felt things no one should have to go through. I'm just taking a bit of that to help you"
"If you start doing that, you'll slowly start to feel it and it'll only get more intense. I'm not going to stand by and let you ruin yourself for me." Plagg says firmly.
"For someone who doesn't like to talk about their feelings you sure are good at it" I crack a smile, trying to lighten the mood.
"Yeah" he breathes. I could tell he isn't amused.
"Anyway why do you even have any of those emotions in the first place? What's wrong Plagg?" I try to pry but he immediately shuts me down.
"Don't worry too much about it. Nothing's wrong, just some stress." He attempts to convince me.
"As if I'm buying that. Just let me in!"
"Tiki I'm not putting that burden on you! You are not going to feel responsible for me and I most certainly will not sit and wallow in my own self pity!"
I slowly shake my head as I stare at him in disbelief. "Plagg...you changed"
Plagg chuckles dryly. "You know Master Fu said the same thing." He picks up his glass of water and takes a sip.
"Plagg...what happened to you?" I sit up and I immediately notice his ears twitching.
Plagg snaps. He slams his glass of water onto the table, spilling it everywhere. His neon green eyes turned dark green, looking almost emerald. His expression looked hard and cold with maybe a mix of...vengeance? His eyes dangerously dilated from pupils to complete cat-like slits. He stands up and intensely stares me down.
"Fine you wanna know what happened?!" He raises his voice. A green aura glows around his hands, he activating his magic. I jump up just in time to hear Plagg whisper.
"I'll show you"
The ground beneath me begins to shake and the floor starts to crack. I reach for something to grab onto, anything! My heart sinks and my stomach drops to the ground when the floor begins to give out. The last thing I see is Plagg's cold and weary expression before I fall through the floor.
I scream his name as I fall into the black abyss. I can't see anything. Everything was black, everywhere was black.
A moment later, I land with a hard thud on a floor. I look around, but there's no light or color to be found. I squint, making my way as I walk through the dark.
"Plagg?" I attempt to call out confidently but it came out more like a whimper. Nobody answers..
A spotlight immediately turns on about 20 feet away. I freeze as a small figure is revealed in the center of the light. The figure is sitting on their knees, clutching their stomach. I distinctly hear silent cries coming from them, but I don't dare take another step.
Another minute passes by before the figure looks up, making my heart jump out of my chest. The person looks around but doesn't seem to notice me. Although, that's not the part that scared me.
As soon as the figure looked up I identified them in a heart beat. I could recognize that face anywhere. It was Plagg, but a younger version of himself. Although I recognize him from a different time period....about the late Middle Ages maybe? He still looks like a kid.
The younger version of Plagg hastily stands up and looks around. He wipes the tears away with his sleeve and looks down.
"Here we are again" he mumbles to himself. "It's just me."
I take a step towards him but he never looks my way.
"Uhm Plagg?" I hesitate but this younger version never botherrs to look at me. "Hello?"
I don't know why this younger version of Plagg won't acknowledge my existence, but where's my Plagg? The one from the present? My questions are answered when I finally hear his voice.
"He can't hear you" I hear him say. I spin around in every direction but I can't spot him.
"Why can't he hear me? Where are you?" I ask. I look around for him but he never reveals himself to me. I know this is his doing. This is all an allusion, it's just magic. I keep telling myself.
"He can't hear you because it's a flashback. You're invisible to him" Plagg says coldly.
"Plagg why are you doing this? Just take me back to the house and we can just drop it." I sigh. It's honestly not worth all this.
"You insisted on talking about it. You wanted to know why I changed. So I'll show you myself," Plagg ended.
"W-wait what do you mean I'll show you?" I yell into the darkness but I receive no response. "Plagg? Where'd you go?"
I huff in frustration and turn back to the younger version of himself. I walk over to him and wave my hand in front of his face. It's amazing how life-like he looks for magic.
I eventually extend my hand to reach out and touch his shoulder, but to my surprise, my hand passes through him.
