Tikki's POV
"He'll criticize me for sure," Plagg breathes. "Then again, Master's never liked me."
"That's not true," I reply.
"Then why'd he tell me that?" Plagg shot.
"What are you talking about?" I ask cautiously.
"I-I..." Plagg sighs and looks away.
"You can tell me," I smile putting a supportive hand over his.
"This isn't the first time I've thought about quitting..." he reveals. "I've requested it at least three times in the past five centuries."
"Y-You did what?!" I exclaim. "Without even telling me?"
I'm not going to lie, I'm more hurt than angry or upset. He usually tells me everything so...I don't know how i feel about this. I'm his partner. It's supposed to be us forever...right?
"I was doing it for you! Master said I was being selfish. I refused to tell him the real reason why I wanted to quit so he accused me of just being lazy," Plagg seethes.
"Your not lazy at all," I say. "But-why would he call you selfish?"
"Master has always sensed a bond between us but I don't think he's ever suspected it to be romantic, at least not too seriously. He threw a huge fit when I requested to quit and words were exchanged. He hates me, I know he does, he said it straight to my face," he sneers.
"Woah, woah, woah, take a breath," I soothe. "It's alright Plagg, not every one needs to like you because you don't need everyone's approval. If he doesn't like you then, oh well, his loss."
"It was his loss until he told Wayzz everything, since Wayzz is a kiss up...anyway Wayzz went and told everyone in the miracle box," Plagg says, attempting to keep his voice steadily calm.
"Why would he do that?" I ask.
"Like I told you Sugarcube, you and Adrien were the only ones who liked me. Besides, who do you think started the whole "Cats are Lazy" label?"
"Wayzz did that?" I grit between my teeth., suddenly feeling a new sense of anger course through me.
Since I've been in the miraculous, I've heard a lot of stories about the other kwami's and their real sides. I believe everything Plagg says about them, but it's just unreal how many different personalities someone can have with different people. Do I do that?
"It's...whatever. It's in the past now. Point is, he going to go ballistic if he finds out about us," Plagg says.
"He doesn't have to find out," I grumble.
"And how exactly are we going to make sure of that?" He asks.
"You know what? We'll both resign. I don't really want to be Ladybug anymore anyway...after Marinette," I say.
"Really?" Plagg says, his ears immediately perking up which I find adorable.
"Yeah," I nod. "As soon as we get out, he'll begin his search for new holders. We'll wait a week or two and then resign."
"He'll be less likely to suspect anything if we quit one at a time," Plagg determines.
"Your right," I say.
"I'm right?" Plagg smirks and raises an eyebrow. "That's a phrase I thought I'd never live to hear,"
"Oh really? That's funny I just thought you were immortal," I retort.
"Yet I don't recall ever hearing those words," he says with a slight smile on his face. His smile quickly fades when a few raindrops hit the windows and start pouring over the yard.
"Oh come on," Plagg mutters. "Stupid rain."
I turn my attention away from Plagg and towards the windows to find it raining even harder. Dark clouds of thunder and lightening surround the area running for miles.
"Oh look it our first thunderstorm in the miraculous," I say. "Finally a change of the same old weather."
"I'll admit, I was sick of the black void but when I said I wanted a change in weather, I did not mean water." Plagg huffs.
A large boom of thunder echoes through the area, slightly shaking our house. The lights flicker before finally cutting off altogether. We lost power. Great.
"Woah," I gasp and slowly reach around the room in the pitch blackness. I feel Plagg reach for me and pull me back towards the couch where he's sitting.
"How can you see!? I'm practically blind!" I say squinting through the darkness for any source of light.
"Cats have night vision," he says.
"Oh right," I remember. "So what now?"
"You wait here and I'll get us flashlights," his voice says in a different direction.
"Oh-uh-alright," I call but I'm pretty sure he already left.
So, I sit in the darkness waiting for Plagg to come back with nothing but the sound of rain pouring into the window. It's peaceful, but I'll admit I am on edge.
A few more minutes went by and Plagg still hasn't come back.
"Plagg?" I question but I receive no response. I immediately light a candle, which I should have done 5 minutes ago.
"Hello?" I say standing up but I still don't receive a response.
"If this is a prank I'm going to kill you," I yell.
Wait a minute Tikki, if this is a prank, he'll most likely want you to stand up and go search for him. He probably wants to scare me, he's not really in danger....or is he?
I sat back down on the couch, contemplating my decisions.
"He should have never left my sight," I mumble before standing up. He is not going to scare me. Besides, I'll be expecting it. He's not going to get any satisfaction out of this!
