The next morning I wake up with a small headache, straining my eyes from the open window by the bed. I groan and crane my head back as I sit up, rubbing my tired eyes.

"Morning." Matt's deep voice says lowly, his voice masked with a hangover as well.

"Morning." I whisper back as I look down at his body still laid next to me. A hand is draped over his face, covering his eyes against the sun. His chest is bare along with his stomach, only thing covered are his legs with a pair of shorts and our shared blanket.

"What time is it?" He groans as he shifted deeper in bed. I strongly close my eyes trying to get rid of my blurry vision before squinting and reading the clock.

"Noon." I answer with a small yawn as I rethink last nights hazy events.

"Hm, early." He moans as he gently taps his fingers on my exposed waist that is seated next to him. He slowly drapes his arm around my waist and drags me back down to a laid down position, causing me to fall heavily ontop of him.

I let out a strained laugh as I apologize to him, but he makes no movement of pain. Instead he tightens his hold on me as I lay on top of him. I place my head on his exposed chest as my hands tap against his side.

"Cold fingers." He moans with his eyes closed. I chuckle and lean my chin on his chest, looking up at his resting face that isn't shown often becuase of his need to save the city.

"They're not that cold." I counter as I press them to a warmer part of his side. His body shys away from my finger as he laughs at my gesters. He flips us so now I'm in his position and he lurks over my body. I smirk up at him and run my supposed cold hands down his stomach, tracing over his ab lines. His stomach sucks in slightly at my cold touch before he slams his whole wait ontop of me, crushing my hands down.

I let out a strained moan from his full body weight ontop of me while he smiles wide as he looks down at me.

He rests his head on my bust, getting comfortable ontop of me. I shuffle slightly under his weight, freeing my trapped arms and bringing it to his hair. I brush my fingers through his dark hair, separating small strands of waves created in them due to his heavy sleep. He breaths heavily on my chest as I continue to play with his soft hair, bringing my other hand to his back, rubbing it up and down slowly.

We lay like that for what feels like forever, thinking our own thoughts before mine drift back to last nights now clear memories.

"Why were you saying sorry?" I voice my thoughts suddenly. I feel his weight shuffle over me before he takes his cheek off my chest, instead resting his chin so he can face me.

"I'm sorry for making you tell me, relive it. It was selfish of me for wanting to know." He answers. I furrow my brows as I start to run my hands on his back again.

"It wasn't selfish, you were right. I was hiding behind the truth for years, hiding from him. Now that he's dead I can live, thanks to you." I relieve his worries as I explain my shelled off feeling to him.

"Live?" He questions.

"Yeah, do things beside work and home. Finally let go, make friends, go out." I list the things I didn't do for nearly two years due to fear.

"I've been in New York for almost two years coming this October, I think I deserve it." I mumble more to myself as I twirl his hair around my finger.

"You deserve more than this city." Matt whispers.

"I deserve someone like you." I counter as trace his back muscles with my index finger while my other hand continues to twirl his hair.

He smiles widely at my response before he tucks his head back onto my chest for the rest of the morning. We lay down practically all day, never leaving each other's side for long.
