As I finish slicking down my shoulder length hair, making a small swoop so it's out of my face, I check the time.
A small knock sounds at the door catching my attention.
"Hey, ready to go?" Matt asks outside my bathroom door.
"Yeah just a second." I yell before patting down my long white dress, making sure that my chest isn't falling out the dress since I made the mistake of not trying it on before buying it.
Opening the door, I walk out, my high heels tapping on my wood floor as I see Matt sit on my sofa, fiddling slightly with the cuffs of his white suit.
"I think we're late." Matt stresses with a slight smile.
"Angel, when it comes to these parties, it's essential to be fashionably late." I explain, spraying some perfume all over my body.
"Of course it is." He chuckles, getting up and handing me my bag. I grab the black clutch bag with one hand and engulf my right hand in his, walking out the door to see Avi waiting in his car for us.
"Ready to be in a gala full of rich, pretentious asses?" Avi chuckles as we start to drive.
"The more you add the more I regret being your plus one." Matt groans in the back seat.
"I'll be with you the whole time, don't worry. Besides there's a bunch of rooms upstairs." I hint at him with a smirk growing at my lips.
"Ugh, ew guys." Avi gags while we chuckle at his reaction.

We walk out the car and up the tall pearly stairs, photographers and valley swarming us.
I link my arm through Matt's, giving it a small squeeze as we walk up the stairs, my dress being pulled up slowly.
"Names?" The security asks us.
"C'mon David, it's us?" I scoff pushing his shoulder jokingly.
"Sorry Daeva, didn't recognize you without the scrubs. You look absolutely beautiful." He gushes with a smile.
"Thank you David, so can we go in?" I ask with a seductive smile.
"Does your plus one have a ticket?" David asks as his eyes judgingly scan Matt's body.
"Well I never had a plus one to the gala, can you make it slide. Just this once?" I whisper, leaning in close to his ear.
Clearing his throat he nods stiffly.
"Sure thing Daeva." He nods with a smile. I wrap my hand around his arm giving him a bright smile.
"Thanks David." I hum before holding Matt's hand and walking past the red carpeted floor.
"That was convenient." Matt whispers under his breath.
"Oh shut it, Matt." I utter before plastering a fake smile on my face as we near the name label and reservation table.
I find my name and pick it up, placing it on my bag, seeing my table is in the front.
"Where you guys sitting?" Avi asks as he walks up and grabs his own name tag.
"Table...3." I sing out as I read the tag.
"Perfect, I'm table 2." Avi says cheerfully. A scoff sounds behind us before a hand pushes past me and Matt, breaking our linked hands.
"Amateurs." A tall slender man says in arrogance.
I raise a brow at his self absorbed actions.
"The nerve you have." I scoff, a sarcastic smile laced on my face. Avis hand swats mine in a way to stop me.
