(Daeva POV)
"Morning." I whisper to Matt as he walks out the bedroom.
"You're up early." He yawns as he makes his way over to me in the kitchen. "And your cooking." He says as he takes a whiff of the air.
"Yeah, I was thinking of going to work with you today." I say as I prepare two plates.
"Okay, that's great. Ben Urich is coming today." He informs me as he walks to the fridge and feels around for the apple juice, knowing I wouldn't want his orange.
"Am I supposed to know him?" I question as I bring the plates to the table.
"He's the reporter I went to visit last night." He answers and guilt washes over me.
"I'm sorry Matt. I forgot to ask you how that went." I apologize as he walks over and hands me my cup.
"Went well, he agreed to write about Fisk, and he believes in the devil." He speaks before walking behind me and placing a kiss on my cheek as he pours me the juice. "And don't worry about it." He says before taking a seat in front of me.
"How was your night?" He asks as he picks up his fork slowly, leaning over the table and awaits my answer.
"Good, went to the store and came back." I answer, not exactly lying.
"Mmm." He hums as he places his fork full of scrambled eggs to his mouth. "This is good." He says pointing to the breakfast I cooked.
"It's just eggs and bacon, Matt." I say with a raised brow and joking tone. He shrugs at my remark before shoving his fork back into his mouth.
"Still good." He hums as we continue to eat. We sit and eat for the next fifteen minutes before we both get ready and leave, deciding to walk in the cold weather.
As we walk down to busy street during rush hour I pull down the pencil skirt I wore to seem professional once we meet this Ben. We enter 'Nelson and Murdock' and walk up the stairs before entering the glass door to see Karen and Foggy already there.
"Hey guys." I say as I step through the doors with Matt holding onto my hand behind me. Karen and Foggy stumble backwards slightly, both holding awkward smiles. I smirk at their embarrassment as I tug Matt's hand.
"H-hey." Karen says as she folds a piece of her long blonde behind her ear.
"What's going on?" I tease as I wiggle my brows in a teasing manor.
"Nothing, you know. Lawyering..." Foggy says with a straight smile. I smile wide before biting my lip at their nervousness.
"Mmm, what exactly were you...lawyering?" Matt asks, continuing the joke as he sets down his walking stick.
"You know, Fisk and um..." Foggy stutters.
"Elena!" Karen fills in the gap quickly. Matt and I chuckle to ourselves as we walk to his office leaving the two alone.

"Ben just called me, he's not coming in." Karen says as she pokes her head in. I lift my legs off of Matt's lap as he's working to swivel my chair and look over my shoulder at Karen.
"Why not?" Matt asks with slight annoyance in his tone.
"He's not done with the article. Said he got a bunch of new information and can't talk about it over the phone." Karen says with a shrug.
"Maybe tomorrow than." I say with a hopeful smile.
"It's pretty late, I think we should just call it." Matt says as he starts to close his case files.
