"Daeva?" Matt's wobbly voice speaks loudly into the apartment. My heavy beating heart soothes once hearing its him. I wash my hands and open the door, revealing myself, still wearing my bloody scrubs from last night.
"What are you doing up?" He questions as he takes off his mask, letting it falll to the floor with no remorse. I furrow my brows at his odd behavior.
"I'm feeling better." I tell him lowly as I see him out of breath and in pain. He slowly lifts his arms up and takes off his shirt, revealing his bloody bandages and bruised ribs.
"Are you okay?" I whisper as my eyes stare at his broken body and frowning face, his eyes teary as if he has been crying.
He sniffles deeply and shakes his head no, causing me to step out of the doorway and closer to him.
"Stick told me to distance myself from everyone, you, Foggy, Karen, before you get hurt. I should have listened to him." He says lowly, his voice shaking with each word.
"You're not Stick." I deflect with a shake of my head as I try to reach for him, but he shifts from my hold as bites his lips angrily.
"No, I'm not. But if I was...this wouldn't have happened." He says loudly as he points to my arms.
"You don't know that. You're just under a lot of stress with Fisk right now, okay. You haven't slept, let's go sleep. Okay?" I whisper as I place a hand on his bare shoulder, his skin warm and rough under my touch.
Matt laughs lowly, scoffing to himself.
"I've had a really shitty day." He speaks with a quivering tone, his sarcastic smirk disappearing and being replaced with a frown, making his bruised cheek sink on his face.
"The kind of day that you think you've seen the worst of humanity. And the pit...it just keeps getting deeper...you know?" He asks as he leans his head onto the wall, his body slipping slightly causing my hand to reach for his waist, not being able to hold him up much from my still not fully healed wrists.
"I can't..." He whimpers before licking his lips. "I can't do this alone." He cries as his lip quivers.
"I can't...I-I can't t-take another step..." He cries, his face scrunching up as his breathing quickens and his cries to become louder.
I slip one of my legs between his as I wrap my arms around his neck. He leans forward and let's his weight lean over me, his face burring into my shoulder as he wraps his arms around my waist tightly. He lets out sobs causing his bare back to shiver and quake upward.
"You aren't alone." I whisper into his ear and I place a hand behind his head, his hair flattening due to my placement.
"You were never alone. You have your best friend, and Karen, your father." I start to list as he continues to cry.
"I don't have them anymore." He sobs causing me to shake my head.
"They still love you, they will never stop loving you." I affirm, rubbing his back as he groans in pain.
"And now you have me, and I'm not going anywhere." I promise as I tighten my hold. He nods and tightens his hold, his bandages pressing against me. His stomach flinching slightly causing me to lean away slightly, making him groan and try to pull me closer.
"Hold on, hold on." I whisper as I slip onto my knees as stare at his bare abdomen. His indented abs covered in small smears of blood, the bruises still extremely prominent from the other night.
I peel open the bandage, exposing his ripped stitches, blood dripping down.
"You opened up your stitches." I murmur causing him to suck in a breath.
"Is that the pulsing pain down there?" He jokes as he sniffles. I sigh and stand back up, walking him to the bed.
"What happened tonight?" I ask him, wanting to know how he opened his stitches and why he came home crying.
"Well I talked to Ben, as the devil. He's going to write the story about Fisk and his mother." Matt explains causing me to shake my head.
"He can't. He's going to get hurt, did you tell him?" I ask him as he leans on his elbows on the bed, pushing up his bleeding torso as he seethes.
"Can't exactly tell him that I know he's going to die if he doesn't stop." Matt makes a point as I take off the bandage.
"Can I call him later? From your phone?" I ask as I grab the alcohol bottle.
"Yeah." He tells me before I pour the alcohol over his open wound, causing him to scream loudly. He throws his head back and closes his eyes, banging his hand on the bed, gripping the covers.
"Sorry." I apologize as I dab the cut. He shakes his head, dismissing my apology.
"Talk through the pain." I remind him, from when we first met months ago.
"Uh...After that I followed an older lady to this abandoned building. They were holding these people there, I mean it was cruel. I can't even explain..." He speaks with a shake of a head.
"Nabu was there." He adds causing my eyebrows to raise.
"The guy that did...all this?" I ask pointing to his entire body.
"Yeah...the place burned up. Almost with me in it." Matt sigh as I start to restitch the wound.
"Matt you need to be more careful." I sigh as I look up at him.
"I know, I know. I just...I can't-" He starts, unable to find the words.
"You can't help yourself." I finish causing him to nod.
"Well, Nabu burning up and you being okay is what I call a win." I whisper causing a small smile to form onto his face.
"What you and I call a win are two different things." He jokes with a laugh causing him to moan in pain.
"You're the only one I care about getting out." I remind before finishing the last stitch.
"Now please tell me you're going to lay off. You need to heal." I groan as I place a bandage over his side.
"Since we are in the Christmas season." He groans, giving into my ask.
"Thank you." I hum as a I sit down into the bed next to him. He lets out a huff as he pulls himself under the sheets, pulling them over me as well.
"Matt, I'm still in these bloody scrubs." I groan as I look at the clothes I was taken with.
"I don't care right now." He sighs as he pulls me to him, not letting go. "Please." He begs as he lays his head on my chest.
I bite my lip and nod, raking my fingers through his hair, separating the strands. "Okay, whatever you want." I let out as he sinks down, bringing me with him.

Something a little short but I got all my points across. More chapters will be coming out faster since Daredevil is going to be added to Disney+.
