(Avi's POV)

I walk out the hospital, into the freezing atmosphere outside. I rub my fingers together due to the cold weather as I make it to my car. I lean against it as I let out hot breaths, turning my head to the left and right waiting for Daeva.

One minute turned into five, than to ten.

My gut churned knowing something's wrong. My eyes dart around the empty parking lot until it lands to a phone that is cracked on the floor.

Walking slowly to it, the phone is still lit up to a contact reading Matt. I grab the phone and notice Daevas black rimmed clear phone case. My heart drops as my fingers shake and tremble lightly.

I let out a shaky breath as I look around, quickly around me. My body thrashing as I look under cars and behind them.

"Daeva?!" I yell repeatedly but get no answer. I take in a intake and look down at her phone, the contact 'Matt' lighting up the dark parking lot.

I press the 'call' symbol and place it to my ear. Without even a ring in they pick up and a deep voice starts to talk.

"Hey, you out with Avi?" The man asks causing my eyebrows to furrow.

"This is Avi...Daevas not with me." I whisper, having a feeling who this Matt is.

"What do you mean she's not with you?" His voice says getting much more serious and deeper.

"I was waiting for her, but she never showed. Found her phone on the floor..." I inform this 'Matt' but cut myself off as my eyes travel to where I found her phone.

"What? What is it?" Matt asks causing my throat to go dry.

"I found her phone by a puddle of blood." I say lowly in fear.

"What's you location?" He asks muffled as things start to break in the background.

"Metro General Hospital, back parking lot." I say quickly, trying my best not to stutter.

"Hello?" I question once getting no response, but I never get one. I pull the phone away to see he hung up. And in a matter of two minuites a man in a black suit jumps off the short bridge, landing a few parking spots away from me.

"Matt?" I whisper causing him to run up and place his gloved hand over my mouth roughly, pushimg me against my car angrily.

"You don't speak my name." He whispers lowly causing my eyes to bulge and head to nod quickly. With that he removes my hand and turns around, upturning his head up into the sky as if he's listening for a pin to drop.

"She's not here." I whisper causing him to have an outburst.

"I know that!" He yells causing me to take a step back, slightly in fear, but not trying to show it. He sighs before taking in a big breath.

"I know that." He repeats, this time much lower and controlled. "I'm trying to see if she's at least in the neighborhood." He informs as his knee buckles in and out simultaneously.

"Maybe we should call the police. File a missing person." I suggest but he shakes his head.

"Fisk controls the police, and I know he took her. Besides she needs to be missing 24 hours to file a missing person." The devil says lowly as he sighs.

"How do you know?" I ask, my heart beating faster the more I think about Daeva's safety.

"Trust me, he's obvious when it comes to these things." He scoffs before going quiet for a second.

I hold my breath, trying not to interrupt him, if my breathing even distracts him?

"Fuck!" He suddenly yells and kicks a car to our left, breaking the window and starting the car alarm.

"She's not here." He grunts hard, breathing in and out at a irregular rate.

The car alarm continues to sound loudly, causing my anxiety to get worse.

"Maybe we should go, man." I suggest as I look past the cars and see the hospital door opening, the owner of the car messing with their keys.

"I need to find Daeva." He counters angrily.

"Well, you said she's not here, right? Than let's go look somewhere else." I say under my breath to him.

"No, you go home. I can't look after you and try to find her at the same time." He tells me as rain starts cascade down on us, drenching us in a matter of seconds.

"I love her as much as you do, I'm not letting you look for my best friend while I sit on the sidelines." I tell him angrily while we walk quickly out the parking lot and into the ally.

"Who said I'm in love with her?" He questions lowly, his mannerisms stiff and defensive.

"Man, it's obvious." I chuckle as I push the wet hair off my face, squinting my eyes through the rain.

The man in black looks at me before signing and swaying under the harsh rain.

"Fine, but stay close and don't question me." He says lowly in an annoyed tone before leaping onto the nearby trash can, than climbing up onto a roof, running and jumping onto the next.

I look up with a wide mouth, the rain crashing against my skin, making my light blue scrubs a dark blue that hangs heavily on my body.

"How the fuck am I supposed to keep up with this show-off." I groan under my breath before running on the crosswalk, looking up to see where he turns so I can follow down on the grown.
