"You look paler than you did earlier. Do you want me to grab the trash can for you to hurl in, boss?" Sang-Hoons voice rang in Taehyung's ears, the sound so sharp it made Taehyung wince in pain. His head was spinning.
"Mr. Choi, please tell everyone I am going to be taking a personal day today." Taehyung said as he stood up from his desk and massaged his throbbing temples.
"Mr. Kim, no! You can't!" Sang-Hoon cried, causing Taehyung to shout in pain and cover his ears. Hang overs really do get worse as you get older. . .
"Today is the launch day for Golden Violet's new tour. Mr. Jeon is going to be making his debut their as the new face of Cora Agencies. You have to be there, you're the CEO. Besides, your fiance is going to be there, remember?" Sang-Hoon slammed his clip board down on Taehyung's desk dramatically.
Taehyung flopped back down into his chair and banged his head against his desk.
"My fiance? All the more reason for me not go." He sighed. Golden Violet was Cora's first ever K-pop group, and when they debuted at number one on all the charts three years ago, it gave Cora a huge wave of success. Han Min-Jun, the groups lead vocalist, was Taehyung's rather antagonising fiance and business partner.
Sang-Hoon groaned. "Why are you needing a sick day, anyways? You're not actually that hungover are you?"
Taehyung blinked up at his assistant. "Among other reasons, yes." He grimaced as he recalled the events that had taken place in the conference room less than twenty minutes ago:
"Some teenager, huh?" Jungkook chuckled darkly, turning and walking away from Taehyung, shaking his head.
Taehyung swayed uneasily on his feet, his hangover smoothie threatening to make an appearance all over the conference room floor. He could lose his job right now. After all his hard work and devotion to the company, he could lose everything all because of one drunken mistake. Taehyung balled his fists. He worked too hard for this job, and he would keep it no matter what the costs, even if that meant kissing this guy's ass until retirement.
Taehyung bowed. "Jungko- Mr. Jeon, I am greatly sorry for what I have done, and what I might have said. Please forgive me. . . sir."
The words burned like acid leaving his lips, but he said them like he meant them. Jungkook only laughed awkwardly and spun around to face Taehyung. He enjoyed his power too much, that was clear to see.
"Mr. Kim, my only advice to you is this: never show up to work hungover again and waste my time. Oh, and be careful who you start fights with. . . I would hate to see you get in over your head." His brown eyes gleamed. "You may leave now."
Taehyung gave and exasperated sigh. "Please let me take a personal day, Choi. I really need it."He begged. Right now Jungkook was probably playing Lego and drinking banana milk from a sippy cup in his huge office, plotting new cruel and unusual ways to humiliate and torture Taehyung.
"Boss, the press will be at the launch. You NEED to be there. Might I remind you this is one of the biggest events of the year. Does the word red carpet mean anything to you, Mr.Kim?" His assistant asked, smacking Taehyung on the head with his clip board.
"Hey!" Taehyung whined, rubbing his head.
Sang-Hoon sighed. "I will give you thirty minutes of personal time, ok? Call your therapist."
Taehyung shot daggers at him. "I'm not calling my fucking therapist." Taehyung was already subjected to two sessions a week, each an hour long, and there was no way he was going to put himself through the torture of "opening up his heart wounds" for a third time this week if he didn't have to.
