The four of them stayed at the cafe for another hour, all of them chatting and drinking coffee; and actually enjoying themselves. (Taehyung was even having lots of fun despite the fact Min-Kyu kept throwing smiles over at Jungkook the entire time.)
Jackson grabbed the last scone and popped it in his mouth, pushing out of his seat and putting his hands on his waist.
"Let's get out of here, gentlemen!" He said, pointing towards the door like some triumphant pirate over looking his treasure. Jungkook and Taehyung exchanged an amused smile, and Min-Kyu looked between the two of them with a wounded look on his face. Bitterly, Taehyung kind of enjoyed seeing him like that.
"Okay, let's get out of here. I need to go back to the hotel and change." Jungkook said, stretching his arms over his head and yawning. Taehyung's gaze flicked down to the strip of skin that was visible above Jungkook's waist band as he stretched, and Taehyung's face burned when he noticed that Jungkook and Jackson both caught him looking.
Taehyung strode over to the front counter and paid the bill, both of the French ladies behind the register smiling up at them through their lashes, waving sheepishly. He nodded at them, feeling shy.
"Merci," He said, before slipping out into the parking lot, the rest of the guys following after him. They took the bus from the hotel to the cafe, but it was a nice enough day that their walk back would actually be a nice one.
"Let's just walk back to the hotel," He suggested, and Jungkook and Jackson nodded.
"Oh. . . I don't really want to go back. I was actually thinking about heading over to Louvre Museum. . ." Min-Kyu said, casting a hopeful glance over at Jungkook, who shifted on his feet to lean closer to Taehyung. Taehyung ached to reach out and drag Jungkook behind him, or even hiss at Min-Kyu and tell him to get lost then. He held it in.
"How about we meet you over there? The walk isn't very long." Jungkook said. "Besides, I want to walk around Paris a bit more; since this is my first time seeing everything here."
Min-Kyu nodded, but looked disapointed. "Oh, alright then. . ."
Jackson glanced between the three of them. "I'll go with you, Min-Kyu. I don't need to change and I've been to Paris plenty of times." He said, looking back at Jungkook and Taehyung, giving them a quick, knowing wink.
Both the boys blushed, looking down at their feet. Taehyung knew Jackson was doing them a solid, but he was also so conflicted because he knew spending more alone time with Jungkook was a bad idea. Didn't it go against their contract?
"Cool, we'll catch you guys later then," Jungkook said, waving at Min-Kyu and Jackson as they started to walk in the other direction, where the bus was parked. Jungkook turned and grinned at Taehyung once they'd left, the sight of his perfect smile making Taehyung's chest ache.
"We lost 'em," He joked, bouncing over to Taehyung and spinning around like a crazy child, chuckling and throwing his hands up victoriously. Taehyung watched as Jungkook ran ahead of him on the boardwalk of the Seine, pumping his fists and shouting happily. The Eiffel tower loomed ahead of them, glowing brightly under the son, like a big beacon of beautifully horrible things to come. Taehyung sighed as he walked behind Jungkook, watching as he ran and danced, finally able to act like the kid he was. Taehyung smiled as they passed a group of people playing French jazz songs, and Jungkook ran over and dropped a few bills into their open saxophone case. Taehyung jogged to catch up with him, swinging his arm over his shoulder. Jungkook beamed at Taehyung; eyes filled with something that was very far from hate. No matter how much Jungkook tried to convince him otherwise, Taehyung knew that his boss cared for him. Maybe as much as Taehyung cared for Jungkook.
