Cruel but Gentle - Herobrine X Steve

Hi People

So I haven't updated in a while, mainly because I stopped writing the fanfic, but I have been informed that some of you were concerned about if I was okay or not so I wanted to reassure you all that I am :)

I don't plan to finish this fanfic. I don't ship it anymore but more importantly I'm not a fan of the quality of writing or how toxic I made the relationship. That being said, I know a lot of you cared about this fanfic so I dug up my old notes and I will now post all of the notes I made for the last 6 chapters (yeah there was only 6 left)

Chapter 37
- Notch self care day, Alex and Steve band together with blankets, affection and no work.
- Mention how angry the general public are at the fact Steve was revived but they suffer loss of loved ones constantly and have to live with that
- Herobrine and Notch have an actual conversation about their feelings
- Alex, Ace, Dusky and Steve (and Herobrine sort of) support Notch
- Notch recounts the first time he comforted a human, who had suddenly burst into tears in front of him centuries ago

Chapter 38
- One of the god teleport with Steve and Dusky back to Steve's old house, but Steve says it feels wrong and empty.
- Steve learns about Dusky's backstory (basically, Dusky's first owner - the one before Steve - was very interested in Herobrine's story but ended up being killed by Herobrine when he attacked their town. Eventually she was saved by Steve)
- Steve ends up giving his house to the village near his home, realising he has no use for it anymore
- Steve ends up collecting all of his stuff to take back to Notch's castle

Chapter 39
- Steve and Herobrine go on a date and Dusky is also there (never gave a reason why)
- They tell each other about their *trauma* (I put stars around the word in my notes)
- A random human appears and tries to attack Herobrine
- Dusky, without thinking, jumps to protect Herobrine even though the human probably couldn't actually hurt Herobrine
- Dusky and Ace bond when Dusky rants about this to him and they play together
- Herobrine calls Steve 'Stevie' again for the first time in months

Chapter 40
- Steve and Dusky move into Herobrine's castle
- There is a now permanent Nether Portal so Steve is free to go between the Overworld and the Nether whenever he wants
- Steve and Alex bond, Alex brings up her new partner (I don't think I ever gave the partner a name but I listed the pronouns as they/them)
- Herobrine and Dusky don't bond exactly, but they become more used to one another's presence

Chapter 41
- Notch addresses the public and explains why he had to bring Steve back
- Herobrine also addresses the public and apologises
- The human refuse to follow Herobrine and so the Herobrine officially becomes the god of monsters and Notch officially becomes the god of humans
- Steve proposes to Herobrine

Chapter 42
- Wedding time, Notch officiates
- General Hexero is the best man and brings his human girlfriend, Lexi, so she can meet Herobrine (I actually had plans for a separate story for Hexero and Lexi, I got attached to the characters)
- Dusky is the best maid
- Alex is a groomsmaid, the other General's are groomsmen and Ace is the ring bearer
- Alex also brings her partner

Also to all the people who ever asked for smut, you very much asked the wrong person I am very sex repulsed and could never write that stuff (though I do respect those who do, it's just not my thing).

I'm honestly surprised people still read this? Younger me would definitely be proud of this so good for them I guess! I'm glad so many of you enjoyed this, because even though I think back to it and cringe it did improve my writing skills overall.
