Why was the pain only a soft ebbing now? Why wasn't every single muscle in his body aching? Why was the floor so cozy and warm? As Steve slowly awoke, these questions bounced around in his mind. He tried to get up but found that something was restraining him completely.
Or, rather, someone.
Steve's eyes instantly flung open as the sudden shockwave of adrenaline obliterated any of the morning cobwebs in his head. Panic settled in him as he realised where he was and who the one barely giving him enough room to breathe was.
Steve mentally screamed at himself when he realised the events of yesterday weren't a dream. He didn't know whether to be thankful of that or scared. Steve tried his best to control his shaking and prayed that Herobrine was still asleep.
Slowly, Steve attempted to shuffle out of the iron grip, making little to no sudden movements. Unfortunately, whenever he actually made some progress, Herobrine's grip would tighten, pulling Steve back and making his heart stop for fear that he had woken up. He eventually gave up.
Steve's wiggling had ended up turning him around so now he was facing his captor. Trying to keep as much distance as possible while in Herobrine's hold, Steve felt steady movement from the god's chest. He realised it was his heart beating. Strange how he had not noticed the beating heart before; Herobrine had been carrying him at quite close quarters. It was probably because he had had his mind on other things - like, you know, escaping and staying alive. Steve was still very much scared but the fact that Herobrine wasn't actually conscious helped matters just a little bit.
Steve found himself worrying about Dusky. Where was she? Was she safe? Was someone protecting her? A nasty thought crept into his mind...did Herobrine kill her..? He could imagine it; Dusky's corpse on the floor of his house, surrounded in blood. Steve shivered and blinked away the tears that had formed in the corners of his eyes. He would have to stop thinking about that before he literally burst into tears and woke up Herobrine.
Said god suddenly shifted, making Steve tense up as his breathing hitched. The mortal was pulled in closer and let out a tiny squeak in surprise. Steve felt his heart drop as a unmistakable chuckle reached his ears. Herobrine opened his eyes. He was definitely awake.
"Hello there, Stevie." Herobrine greeted with a grin, his white eyes glowing softly. All Steve did was gulp. He tried (and failed) to put some distance between the two of them. Blush crept up onto his face when he realised that Herobrine was still topless and that his chest was pressing into Steve's (thankfully clothed) own torso.
"H-H-Hi..." Steve muttered in reply. Herobrine stared down at Steve and grinned. Steve shrunk under his gaze and held back a whimper at the sight of Herobrine's sharp teeth. The god just chuckled and held Steve's face with his calloused hands, examining it closely. Steve felt extremely uncomfortable.
"How about we get some breakfast?" Herobrine offered, letting go of Steve's face and resting his elbows on either side of Steves shoulders, effectively trapping him underneath the god. Steve just shakily nodded and Herobrine climbed off of him, sliding out of bed.
Steve sat at the edge of the bed before standing up. He wobbled then fell over, bracing himself for the impact to the floor. However, it never came. Instead, Steve felt a pair of warm strong arms catch him. Steve yelped as he was suddenly picked up. Once more, Herobrine was carrying Steve bridal style. The immortal walked out of the room, Steve in his arms.
"Did you already forget about your injuries?" He smirked. "You mortals aren't very good at remembering." Steve squirmed in his grip slightly then forced himself to stop.
They arrived at the dining room once more. This time, all across the table, there were waffles, pancakes, French toast and loads of other breakfast food, as well as more water at Steve's spot. Steve was placed in the same seat as last time by Herobrine, who then sat in his own magnificent throne.
