Steve, a young minecraftian, screamed and quickly sat up in his comfy bed, sweating bullets and panting heavily. He frantically scanned the room for any signs of danger. Thankfully, none were spotted. He took a glance out the window to find it was still night. A distant groan of a zombie startled the paranoid human.
He had had a nightmare. Not like a nightmare you or I may experience, this was different. Very different. Steve couldn't get the images out of his mind. A bloody man, almost identical to him but a bit taller, with glowing white eyes. Those eyes bored into Steve's kind soul while the grim man smiled a spine-chilling grin. Steve pulled his red duvet up close, like it would protect him from the monsters that lurked in the shadows of his mind. Like a child.
After a while, he calmed himself down and tried his best to go back to sleep. He tossed and turned but he couldn't shake the feeling he was being watched. Steve prayed it was just his mind playing tricks on him but a little part of him knew that this was no trick.
He concluded he would feel safer if he had his iron sword with him but that meant going downstairs and he felt that might be the death of him. He closed his eyes and forced himself to get some rest. He really needed to go mining tomorrow, otherwise he'd run out of coal, so sleep was very important at the moment. Finally, the dark around him consumed his body, bringing him to sleep.
Steve awoke at the crack of dawn. He yawned and pushed himself out of bed. He rushed downstairs and hurried to the kitchen. He opened a chest and got out a piece of raw beef then put it in the furnace to cook. While waiting for his food to be done, Steve grabbed his satchel and stuffed some bread and water into it. He pulled his steak out the furnace once it finished and munched down on it happily.
Still eating his steak, Steve dashed into the other room and grabbed some other mining essentials; his iron sword, his iron pick and a bunch of torches. He swung his satchel onto his back and ran out the door, closing it behind him.
He arrived at a cave, a little bit away from his house. Lighting a torch, he cautiously scanned the entrance for any hostile mobs. Once he saw none, he carefully stepped inside. No ores could be spotted so the young miner ventured into the dark cave.
Steve eventually came across some coal and eagerly began to mine it, repeatedly hitting the ore with his pickaxe. He mined up all the coal then continued down the cave.
"Dead end..." Steve muttered quietly to himself. He nearly walked into the stone wall that was now in front of him. He didn't know why, but he was distracted. Suddenly, an arrow whizzed past his face and landed on the stone wall with a twang.
The young miner wasted no time and yanked his sword out of his satchel. He spun round to face a skeleton. Steve charged at it, iron sword in hand. He jumped onto the skeleton, pinning it on the cold, stone floor. He raised his sword and almost instantly brought it down, smashing it into the skeleton's skull, killing the skeleton with ease.
With effort, Steve yanked his sword out of the skeleton's, now broken, skull. He sighed, slightly unhappy. He never really wanted to kill anything he was just really not ready to die yet. He collected the one bone and two arrows the skeleton dropped upon death and gave up looking for more coal, as it was getting late. He decided he'd continue searching tomorrow and traced his footsteps back to the entrance of the cave.
