"I love you" Isaid
And you shook your head
"That part of me
Has long been dead"

"I love you" I said
And you walked away
"Thats your problem
But I'll fix it today"

"I love you" I said
Tears in your eyes
"This would be easier
If I wasn't to die"

"I love you" I said
Pleading desperately
But the words stayed
Locked inside of me

I gave up hope
That I'd be loved
So their ignorance
Became my only sun

"I love you" he said
Finally
Only I couldn't
Make myself believe

"I love you" he said
"Show me"
But he didn't get
That he would leave

"I love you" he said
"With everything"
I stared stony eyed
Not seeing

"I love you" he said
Promising
But his words were weak
Finally comprehending

"I love you" he said
As he turned to leave
"But I understand
That you can't love me"

"I love you" I said
As he walked away
But so quietly
It was lost in the rain

"I love you" I said
But it's better this way
Because he cant follow me
Into the grave
