On the walk back I didn't know what to think. My body was tired and soar and drained and I didn't want to continue further. But I needed to but I was also scared I was going to come back to nothing. No Erebor. No Thorin.

I tried not to let these thoughts get the best of me but what else are you suppose to do when you've been walking for what feels like a decade?

The valley was no good to go back through for multiple reasons so I had to take a long route back. The battle at Erebor surely had already begun by now. At one point I felt like collapsing, and just wait for fate. But then I heard a voice. Not the one I heard in the valley.

"Nex..?"

I looked up to see who had spoke. "Thorin?" My eyes widened and a burst of energy went through my body. I ran towards him and him towards me, my legs gave out on me a bit and I collapsed into his chest, his arms wrapped tightly around me. "Thorin there's no more." My voice sounded muffled and dry.

Thorin pulled me away just enough so he could look at me. "What do you mean?" Tears started filling my eyes and I looked away. "Nex?" Thorin kept his right arm wrapped around my waist to keep me steady and he lifted his left hand to my face, making me look at him. "What do you mean there's no more?" He asked and looked at me worryingly.

"Thorin there's no more dragons.." Thorin's eyes started to water at my response. "There are no more dragons and once Sauron's army finds out they're going to kill me and-"

"Hey.. I promise you.. I will not let that happen," Thorin looked at me as assuringly as possible. He sighed and leaned his head downward, making out foreheads touch. When we pulled apart and went to continue on back to Erebor, and axe was thrown at me and barely missed my leg. Both me and Thorin turned in shock and saw orcs coming our way.

I bent down and grabbed the axe. I was in no shape to fight but I needed to. "Thorin what do we do?"

He took a deep breathe and stood up straight. "We fight." I took a deep breathe and nodded. Orcs came at us and we tried to stay as close to each other as possible so we could be at each others aid.

I noticed a lot of orcs were gathering near Thorin so I pushed through the ones near me and went to his aid. "Do you think Azog is with this half?"

"I have no doubt," more orcs came as he was talking, "this whole thing was a diversion so he could get to you.

"Figured," I swung the axe at a few orcs that came and then things died down for a minute. "Somethings not right.."

"We need to go. Now." Thorin darted his eyes at me and I nodded. We looked around real quick to make sure no other orcs were coming and then we started running.

*Gundabad Wargs start howling*

"Shit!" Me and Thorin started running faster but the Wargs caught up in no time. They trapped us in a circle, there was no way out. I noticed Thorin's face go blank with anger and I turned to the direction he was looking. Azog..

"Thorin go."

"What?!"

"Go!"

"I am not leaving you Nex are you crazy?!"

"Maybe I am!" I turned to him and frowned. "Thorin if you were to die then I would have nothing to live for." Thorin's mouth opened but nothing came out.

"No. We're in this together," he looked at me and grabbed my hand.

"Can you handle the Wargs?" I looked at him worryingly, there wasn't a lot so I was hoping he could.

Thorin looked around and nodded. I then turned back to Azog with a determined look on my face. "Nex? What are you going to do?"

I shrugged, "you're not going to like it." I let go of his hand and immediately threw my axe at Azog's Wargs head.

"NEX NO-" Thorin tried to stop me but it was too late. He looked at me like I was insane. The other Wargs started attacking and Thorin started taking care of them so I could get to Azog.

"It's a shame. You had so much potential." Azog glared at me as he got up from the ground and his Wargs dead body.

"If you mean using my gift to destroy and create chaos? That doesn't seem like potential to me." Though I couldn't get my axe from his Wargs head I still tried to act tough. I glanced over at it and a thought came to my head. "Though you have the potential to lose your other hand." Azog knew exactly what I meant and went for me. My only defense at the moment was dodging his attacks.

In the midst of my own trifles, I noticed Thorin was starting to struggle and needed help. Azog noticed my fear and laughed. I bolted to get the axe, not paying any attention to Azog. Once I grabbed the axe I threw it at one of the Wargs, giving Thorin more leverage. I smiled knowing that he was safe and he looked at me with a frightened look.

I turned to Azog swinging at me, now I was completely defenseless.

{ Thorin's POV }

The Wargs were under control, almost, so I continued to wipe them out. Hopefully Nex was okay.

Once the Wargs were gone I heard Nex and looked over. She had him locked with her on his shoulders and her legs wrapped around, holding his arms tightly to his chest. "THORIN THROW YOUR SWORD!"

I didn't want to because I didn't want to risk hurting her but this was the last chance for Azog to be truly gone. For good. I gripped the hilt tightly and threw the sword towards. Everything seemed like it was slow motion.

Azog broke free and grabbed Nex by her hair and threw her forward off of his shoulders.

My eyes widened at the sight.

{ Nex's POV }

Before I knew it I felt a sword go into me. Azog was still holding me by my hair, Thorin looking like he had just lost his home all over again.

I had enough strength left to pull the sword out and swing it above my head, cutting off Azogs.

Once his body fell I collapsed to my knees. I saw Thorin rush over to me. "Nex.." I have never seen him cry before..

"I'll be fine.." I managed to say even though it felt like my body had shut down.

"Please don't leave.. please.."

{ Thorin's POV }

Nex looked at me weakly. "I'm sorry.. Thorin.." She started crying and cupped my face with her hands, pulling my forehead down to her lips.

Her body then went limp and her head fell down to my shoulder. "Nex.. NEX!" I broke down into to tears and held her close. She couldn't be gone. Not now.

I refused to leave so I stayed there, holding her lifeless body even until after sunset. I promised her she wouldn't die, that I wouldn't let her die..
