Quote: “Such silence has an actual sound, the sound of disappearance.”

About a week later I was back to normal. My headaches got better and I was able to go to work. Jeremy was okay but a bit annoyed that I had not listened to him. Things were looking up, I guess. He was home more often than not and he talked to me, cracking jokes as if his real self had returned.

"Life is boring," I whined as I came out after a bath. Jeremy was checking some papers, his blonde hair shimmering in the light. He looked up at me, grinning as I started to dry my hair in front of the mirror.  I watched him from the mirror giving him a questioning look.

"Let's see. Well why don't you join me for dinner tomorrow night?” he asked still smiling and I felt my heart warm up. “We'll go somewhere."

"Really?" I asked a little shocked. It had been a while since we’d gone to a dinner together, arranged a date to be more precise. I immediately liked the idea.

"Yep," he replied averting his attention back to the papers. I rolled my eyes at him but inside I was feeling pleased.

"Aww thank you," I hushed excitedly.

"It’s a date," he winked.

I sat down before the mirror the next night getting ready. I had chosen a red evening gown to go with my black heels. Jeremy loved me wearing the color red - he had mentioned it enough times. I wore a silver chain with a black ring in the middle around my neck.

I fiddled around my jewelry box until I found them. Those brilliantly patterned silver earrings with a single black stone studded on each of them which Jeremy had given to me for my last birthday. I loved wearing them when we went out, but I hadn't gotten a chance to because we rarely went out now.

Just then I felt strong arms wrapping around my back.

"Hey," I said looking at in the mirror. He was smiling at me affectionately, his expression soft. Jeremy stopped smirking as he flipped me around to face him.

"Whoa, you look better up close," he said looking into my eyes. I blushed averting my gaze from his face. He kissed me lightly.

"Where's your tie?" I asked fingering his shirt. He looked unimaginably handsome, but then again he always did.

"I can't find it," he said in a hopeless voice which made me laugh. I was the only one who knew where his things were because he never bothered to put them in their place.

"Oh come on," I said freeing myself from his grip. I went to the closet.

“Red tie or blue tie?” I asked as I turned around to face him, a tie in each hand.

“Red?” he questioned earning a laugh from me. Duh.

"Red it is then," I said in a teasing tone.

"Thank you." He smiled, reaching for it.

"Here let me put it on you," I replied tying the tie on him.

"Thank you again," he grinned kissing my forehead and then both of my cheeks.

"Shall we go now?"

"Yes, you go downstairs. I'm coming in a sec," I said, giving him a peck on his lips. I went back to where my earrings were. Jeremy mumbled something about being late as he exited the room which made me roll my eyes. Within minutes, I went downstairs to find Jeremy waiting.
