Dinner

Y/n POV

 They rush over to us and smother me with kisses.

"Aye, Mijo" Pepa exclaims and I shift four times
"Mija, what are you doing?" Mamma asks and her smile quickly drops and whispers to Pepa, a rain cloud appears and they grab my arms and drag me away from Camilo, he runs after us. They sit on my bed while Camilo leans against the closed door and I pace around.
"I don't know what's happening to me" I say, my voice shaking "I didn't do anything wrong" A tear slips out of the corner of my eyes. I wipe it away quickly and Pepa thunders.

"Mija, you need to calm down" Mamma says and I still
"Calm down?" I ask "is your gift spazzing out?" I ask angrily and she's quiet. Camilo touches my arm gently "you guys should go get ready for dinner, I'll stay in here" I say
"No, you need to come," Pepa and Mamma say at the same time. I raise my eyebrow at them

"Why?"
"For" Pepa pauses "reasons" I fight an eye roll

"Fine, but I can't control my gift" I say and they smile at me

"That's okay" They leave and I rub my face. Camilo hugs me, what is he doing? I put my arms around him and he holds me. I feel safe. I feel happy? He pulls away and cups my cheek, my stomach flips. He wipes a tear from my cheek and looks at me with a faint smile on his lips.

"It's going to be okay" He says and I nod

"Thank you" I say, I'm so grateful for him. I hug him tightly and he kisses my hair. I hear his heart pounding against his chest and I smile. He leaves and I chuckle. I changed into a long red skirt with pumas along the bottom, a flowy white off the shoulder shirt, my tan sandals. I shake out my hair and take a deep breath. Mateo walks in and hugs me.

"I heard what happened" He mutters and I smile at him

"I think it's getting better, I haven't shifted yet"
"Good, that's so good" He smiles at me and changes into a nice ruana. I walk out and he loops his arm through mine. I laugh and I see a handsome man talking to Alma and Abuela

"Oh here's my grandkids" Abuela says and we walk over. "Y/n, Mateo this is Mariano Isabela's fiance" He takes my hand and kisses the top of it

"It's a pleasure to meet you Y/n" He smiles

"It's lovely to meet you" I smile and he shakes my brother's hand.

"Let's go" Alma says and Mariano lets me for first
"Thank you" He smiles. He's a gentleman for sure. I sit in my seat and I smile at Camilo, who looks worried.

"The Madrigals and the Guzmans will be so good for the encanto" Alma says and Senora Guzman laughs
"Then let's not hope tonight is a terrible disaster" She jokes and I smile. Dolores nervously taps her glass. Dinner is going well, I talk with Mariano, he's very nice.
"Avocado?" He offers Mirabel, she shakes her head. Dolores whispers something to Camilo and he shifts into Mirabel, a man I don't know, me and then himself, his eyes looking in different directions. I raise my eyebrows at him
"Camilo fix your face" Felix says and Camilo shakes his head and smiles at me. He whispers something to Felix and he spits his drink on me. I gasp, everyone's eyes widen.

"Napkin?" Mariano offers, I take them and wipe myself.
"Thank you" I smile at him and he nods. Mirabel sticks her head under the table

"Mirabel, everything okay?" Mariano asks slowly and she nods and Agustin grabs her hand "She's just excited for you to propose" 

"Which you should do, right now," Mirabel adds. Mariano looks at his mom for help

"W-w-well since everyone here has a talent my Marinao wanted to start with a song, Luisa could you bring the piano over?" She says

"Okay..." Lusia says, voice breaking and Mirabel jumps out of her seat

"It's actually a family tradition to sing after" She grunts and throws him out of his seat. Felix whispers to Pepa and a cloud swirls around her head
"Pepa, they cloud" Abuela says

"Clear skies" Pepa mutters over and over

"Isabela, the most beautiful flower in all of the encanto" Mariano starts and Pepa's cloud thunders. Mirabel jumps on the floor and flashes Mariano a cheesy grin 

"You're doing great" She winces and he continues. Until she leaps under the table and some of Antonio's animals bring up a glowing palter. She tries to grab it but smacks it towards Abuela, "Mirabel found Bruno's vision, she's gonna destroy that magic and we're all doomed" Dolores yells and thunder cracks. Cracks appear on the walls and Mirabel stands there. A crack appears in front of Mariano and a flower attacks his nose. Rain pours, a door opens and people with a 'congratulations' sign go quiet. Mariano and his mother run out, Abuela chases them. I shift into different animals and rub my head. Mateo leads me out of the kitchen as people run out.
