Seeing the Encanto

Y/n POV

I sigh and Mateo flops on the bed.

"What time is it?" he asks, arm over his eyes

"Eleven" I say and untuck my blanket, I hate when it's tucked in, makes me feel trapped. I sit on the bed, and look at Mateo, he's going to fall asleep. "Come on hermano, let's go" I say and pull him up.

"I want to nap" He whines and I look at him
"I was a cat for two and a half hours so you can sleep, you'll be fine" He rolls his eyes but opens the door for me. We walk out and introduce ourselves to the adults.

"Feel free to explore around town. Y/n perhaps you'll want to find the children" Senora Alma says and I smile. Mateo and I leave and he lets out a breath

"Please don't tell them about my gift" he whispers and I loop my arm through his
"I won't, you can just watch me work my magic" I say and he laughs. As soon as we reach the center of town a group of kids leave Camilo and run at us.

"Are you the special guests!?" A kid yells
"What are your gifts?"
"Show us your gifts" I laugh and walk a little away and they follow me.
"You guys want to see my gift?" I ask and they all nod eagerly. "What's your favorite animal?" I ask a small boy. He thinks and Camilo stands by my brother, watching me.

"A jaguar!" He says excitedly. I smile

"Alright, you guys have to promise you won't get scared"

"We promise" A kid yells and I take a step back and shift into jaguar. All the kids gasp and run up to me, I sit down and they pet my head. Camilo is watching me, his eyes wide and Mateo nudges him and I shift into myself.
"That is so cool!" and they all ask me questions.

"How about we hide and seek?" I ask and they all nod. I stand by my brother and count loudly.
"That's pretty impressive" Camilo says and I smile

"What's your gift?" I ask and he shifts into me and twirls around. "Ah, mine's cooler" I say and lean on my brother's shoulders.

"Debatable" He says still me. I smile and roll my eyes. I shift into a dog and run around and find kids. After I find all of them they all do their own thing and I sit by my brother's feet. He and Camilo sit on the fountain and talk. Dolores walks up
"It's lunch time" I shift back and she laughs

"That is so cool"
"Thanks" I grin

"Cooler than mine?" Camilo asks and Dolores puts her arm around my shoulders
"Yes" and we walk away. I giggle and they follow us. "Can you shift into any animal?" Dolores asks
"Yep"
