Her Last Wish
Chapter Twenty Five
Sang
(Friday)

"You're looking a little pink," Silas says, his fingers stroking up and down my bare arm.

"Hmm." That's all I can manage. I've never known that being out in the middle of the ocean like this could be so peaceful. I understand why Silas comes out here now. This morning, and for the past week, my thoughts haven't stopped. Apart from that time with Gabriel in the cemetery, at his house and with Luke and Gabriel while Nan had her surgery.

But now, I'm wishing I could come out here every day if it brings me this sense of quiet calmness. More than that, I've realised I want to do it with him, with the man I lay next to naked, and the other men he calls his best friends, his brothers. I'm tired of fighting it.

Friends with benefits.

I was fooling myself.

Nan may get her last wish after all.

"Aloe Vera works wonders," I add as an afterthought, lifting my head to look at him. "It's not the first time the sun has cooked me red."

"But it's not good for your skin," he says, a smile tugging at his lips despite the seriousness I feel behind those words. "Sean will spend all day giving you a lesson as to why it's not a good idea to not wear sun cream out in the sun."

I laugh. "He could try. Grandad Bernie gave me a lecture when I was twelve and came home sunburnt after a day at Folly Beach with Nan. It's safe to say that since then I have always made sure to wear sun cream. Until now. But this was a surprise trip so it doesn't count." I pause, the smile that I had been wearing falling from my face. "Thank you for bringing me out here."

His dark eyes soften as he tucks an arm under his head, watching me intently. If there is something I have learned about Silas Korba is that he thinks carefully about his words before he says them. He's a quiet guy otherwise, so I truly do believe when he has something to say, he means every single word. "I would happily bring you here everyday if it made your thoughts settle like they have done."

Did I not just have that same thought? "I'm going to try," I admit, my voice soft. "With you, with the guys. If they want it, that is. I have a path ahead of me that is going to break and turn into stepping stones so small I don't even know if I'll be able to get my toes on them. But if we're all on the same page, then I want to try."

"We won't let you drown in your grief, Sang. We'll hold that path together for you."

"I believe you."

He rolls, guiding me back to lay on the floor of the boat. He hovers above me, this strong, breathtaking man, a Greek God, literally, and I can't help but wonder; why me? I've always thought of myself as average; long blonde hair, pale skin that turns pink under the summer sky, green eyes that are a mirror image of my grandmothers, with a slim but average body, though my height of five foot three and a half does make me feel small sometimes. Especially against Silas; he's big, wide and tall, extremely fit and buff.

My legs part for him and he settles himself between them. "I want to make love to you," he says, voice low and deep.

I smile. "Didn't we just do that?" My heart starts to climb up my throat, a heavy beat in my ears.

"No, Aggele. That was fucking. A spur of them moment fuck full of lust and hunger that couldn't be contained any longer, though don't think I wasn't worshipping your body then because I was. This will be different; I want to make love to you, slowly, adoring and gently loving you and your body every second you're beneath me." His lips quirk up. "I'll remember to use a condom this time so I don't finish in your mouth either."
