They Have a kid named, Nami. she's like 10, and they are like 35, just pretend she is somehow their biological child.

"Hey, Nami, how was school?" Reki asked, his arms opening wide to pull her into a hug the second she stepped through the door.

Nami beamed as she latched onto him, her fourth-grade backpack nearly slipping off her shoulders. "It was so fun! I met this girl named Kazuna, and she was so cute!" she gushed, practically bouncing on her feet. "She has these sparkly hair clips, and she let me borrow one, and we played together at recess! Oh! And at lunch, she shared her mochi with me, and—"

Reki chuckled, leading her toward the dining table as she continued rambling about her day. I leaned against the doorway, watching them fondly. The warmth in our home was something I never took for granted.

"That sounds awesome, kiddo," Reki said as he ruffled her hair. "But for now, dinner's ready, so wash up and get changed."

"One sec, Papa! I need to change out of my uniform!" she called as she ran down the hall, disappearing into her room.

I smiled as Reki turned toward me, his face lighting up as he closed the distance between us. The moment his arms wrapped around me, he let out a deep sigh, burying his face against my shoulder.

"Welcome home, love," he murmured.

I pressed a kiss to his temple. "I missed you, too."

He squeezed me tighter before pulling back just enough to look at me. His eyes shimmered with unshed tears. "It's been a week—one long week."

I ran my fingers through his hair, his ultimate comfort. "I know. I hated being away from you."

I had been sent on a business trip out of state. It was only supposed to last four days, but unexpected delays stretched it into a full week—longer than I had planned. Reki wasn't good at being apart for too long. It reminded him too much of our worst fight back in high school, the one that nearly tore us apart.

Nami had missed me, too. She had made me a card, scribbled with crayons in a rainbow of colors, filled with hearts and the words: I miss you, Dad! Come back soon! Seeing it waiting on my pillow when I got home had made my heart swell.

Reki pulled back just enough to meet my gaze again. "Come on, let's eat before Nami finishes everything on her own."

I laughed softly as we took our seats at the dining table.

Nami came rushing back in, her hair now loose from her school ponytail, wearing one of my old hoodies that practically swallowed her small frame. She pulled up her seat and clapped her hands together. "Thank you for the food!"

Reki had made curry—warm, fragrant, and just spicy enough to leave a pleasant heat on my tongue.

"This is so good," I said after my first bite.

Reki grinned proudly. "Of course it is. I had to make up for you being gone with some quality home-cooked food."

Nami hummed in agreement, stuffing another spoonful into her mouth. For a few minutes, we ate in comfortable silence until she suddenly looked up at us with curious eyes.

"Hey, Dad? How did you and Papa meet?"

I blinked, caught off guard by the question. "W-well, um... We met in high school."

She narrowed her eyes playfully. "Go on."

I glanced at Reki, who smirked as if to say, You're on your own, buddy.

I sighed, setting my spoon down. "I had just transferred from Canada, so I didn't really know anyone. On my first day, I ended up sitting next to your Papa in class. He was loud, kind of messy, and always fidgeting with something. But..." I glanced at Reki, my lips tugging into a small smile. "He had this energy about him. Like, he could make anything exciting. I didn't realize it then, but I think I was drawn to him from the start."

Reki snorted. "You mean you were totally confused by me."

I rolled my eyes. "Anyway... One day, I was walking home, and he came flying toward me on his skateboard. He yelled at me to stop it, so I caught it with my foot."

Nami gasped dramatically. "Like a superhero?"

I chuckled. "Something like that. After that, he offered to teach me how to skate, and we started hanging out more. At first, it was just skating, but then it became... everything."

Reki leaned back, stretching. "That's pretty much how it went. Langa followed me around like a lost puppy until we were basically inseparable."

I elbowed him playfully, but Nami was already giggling.

"That's it?" she asked, feigning disappointment. "Dang, that's kinda boring."

Reki and I exchanged a look, unsure how to respond.

She burst into laughter. "I'm just kidding! Your reactions were hilarious!" Then, with a mischievous glint in her eyes, she turned back to me. "So, Dad... was Papa your gay awakening?"

I choked on my drink.

Reki immediately went into damage control mode, waving her off. "Okay, that's enough questions! Finish eating and go do your homework!" His face was turning pink.

Nami cackled as she took one last bite, put her bowl in the sink, and skipped off to her room.

I turned to Reki, smirking. "So I was your gay awakening?"

He groaned, dragging a hand down his face. "Oh my god, don't start—"

"But was I?" I teased, leaning in closer.

He covered his face with his hands. "W-well... I mean... u-uh, yeah..." he muttered.

I laughed softly, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "I love you, Reki."

He peeked up at me from between his fingers, then dropped his hands and grinned. "I love you too, dumbass."

Before we could say anything else, Nami's voice rang out from down the hall.

"He was! Ha ha ha!"

Reki let out a groan, flopping back onto the couch. I just sighed, shaking my head.

Life with them was chaotic, messy, and loud—but I wouldn't change it for the world.
