Reki's POV

Langa and I sat at my desk, sketching designs for a new board. His eyes were focused, lips slightly parted as he doodled a pattern across the deck outline. I leaned on my palm, watching him with a soft smile when my mom suddenly opened the door.

"Hey, Reki, the girls and I are about to do some face masks. Want to join us?" She glanced at Langa and brightened. "Oh, Langa's here! You should join too."

Langa turned to me. "Sure."

I blinked, caught off guard. "Wait, really?"

He nodded.

"Alright then! Come when you're ready, boys!" Mom grinned and shut the door behind her.

I stared at Langa. "You actually want to do this?"

"Why not?" he said, smiling as if this was just another normal activity.

I chuckled, shaking my head in disbelief. Taking his hand in mine, I squeezed it lightly. "Alright, ready?"

Langa responded with a warm smile before leaning in and pressing a soft kiss to my cheek. My face burned, but I quickly shook it off and dragged him toward the living room.

We walked in just as my mom was applying a light pink face mask on Koyomi.

"Ohhh, look, Reki brought his boyfriend over," Koyomi teased, drawing out the word dramatically.

I turned red. "H-Hey, quit it."

Mom chuckled, shaking her head. "Don't tease your brother."

Koyomi pouted before returning to her conversation with Mom.

I felt Langa's hand tighten around mine. A subtle but clear signal. He was uncomfortable.

Without a word, I tugged him toward the kitchen, away from prying eyes.

"What's up, Snow?" I asked while grabbing a glass of water.

Langa hesitated before answering. "I don't know... I'm still not used to your sister making those kinds of comments."

I handed him the glass. He took a sip, looking slightly flustered.

"Well, you are an only child, so I guess you wouldn't get how siblings are," I teased.

He hummed in response, still seeming unsure.

I reached out and cupped his face gently. "Hey, don't worry about it. I can talk to her if it really bothers you."

Langa's expression softened as he leaned into my touch. He didn't say anything—just smiled and closed the gap between us with a short but sweet kiss.

Butterflies exploded in my stomach, no matter how many times he did that.

We stood there for a moment, looking at each other before finally snapping out of it and heading back to the living room.

"Hey, sweetie," Mom called as she grabbed her bag. "I set yours and Langa's masks on a tray over here, but I just got called into work, so I have to run. Sorry, I can't join you!"

"It's okay, Mom! Don't worry about it," I assured her as she hurried out the door.

I turned to Langa and grabbed the tray. "Alright, Snow, do you want the black one or the purple one?"

He eyed them both seriously before pointing at the purple one. "That one."

I snickered. "You sound so sure about it."

He gave a firm nod, like he was making the most important decision of his life.

"Alright, alright, let me get it ready."
