after fight

Reki and Langa rarely fought. When they did, it was usually over small misunderstandings or miscommunications. They had only experienced three major arguments in their entire relationship, and though each one was difficult, they always found a way through, emerging stronger together. But this time, things felt different. The tension between them was heavier, more complex. They had been apart for over a week, barely talking, both feeling the weight of unspoken words. It was the longest they'd gone without speaking, and the distance between them seemed to grow with every passing day.

Langa and Reki had very different ways of dealing with their fights. Langa was more laid-back about things. He'd get upset, of course, but he rarely let it linger for long. Reki, on the other hand, had a tendency to overthink, to get lost in the spirals of his own mind. He knew it wasn't healthy, that it only made things worse, but he couldn't seem to help it. The silence had been suffocating for him.

Finally, after days of avoiding each other, they decided to meet. Reki went to Langa's place while his mom was at work, hoping they could talk without any distractions. When Reki arrived, Langa immediately noticed something was off. He couldn't pinpoint it, but Reki was different—awkward, almost distant.

"Hey..." Reki greeted softly, stepping inside and removing his shoes. He felt a knot in his stomach, unsure of what to say or do.

Langa led him to his room, and they sat across from each other—Langa perched on the edge of his bed, and Reki sitting at the desk.

"I want to apologize for what I said," Langa started, his voice genuine. "I realize now that it was wrong, and I hope you can forgive me."

Reki let out a long breath, nodding slowly. "It's okay, Langa. I overreacted... it wasn't that big of a deal, but thank you for saying sorry." There was relief in his words, but it didn't entirely wipe away the tension in his chest. He still felt off—unsettled. After a beat, Reki stood up and moved to Langa's bed, sitting next to him. Without a word, he wrapped his arms around Langa, holding him close.

Langa immediately embraced him back, pulling him in tighter. They stayed like that for a few minutes, just taking in the comfort of each other's presence. "I missed you, Reki," Langa whispered, his voice soft but full of meaning.

An hour later, the two were sprawled on the couch, watching a new show Langa had found. They were quiet, lost in the episodes, but something felt different. It wasn't just the remnants of their argument; there was a strange unease hanging in the air.

Langa glanced at Reki. "When's the last time you ate?" he asked, standing up to stretch. Normally, Reki would answer quickly, but today he hesitated. "Um... yesterday morning?" Reki's voice was distant, like he hadn't fully processed the question.

Langa frowned, concern creeping in. Reki, who loved food, had never gone so long without eating. It wasn't like him at all.

"Would you like something to eat?" Langa offered, trying to keep his voice light.

"I'm not hungry," Reki replied, his voice shaky, like he was forcing the words out.

Something about his tone made Langa uneasy. He didn't push it, but as he went into the kitchen to make himself something, he couldn't shake the worry gnawing at him. He made a little extra, just in case Reki changed his mind.

From the kitchen, he glanced into the living room and saw Reki sitting motionless on the couch, staring blankly at the TV. Langa's heart tightened. Something was definitely wrong, but he didn't want to force Reki to talk if he wasn't ready. He'd let him be for now.

Twenty minutes later, Langa returned with his plate of food, but Reki hadn't moved, hadn't said a word. They continued watching the show in silence. Langa quietly ate his meal, trying not to let his worry show.

"Reki, you seem a bit stressed," Langa said softly, leaning closer and putting his hand gently on Reki's shoulder. "Do you want me to run you a warm bath? It might help you relax."

Reki shook his head, his tone quieter than usual. "I'm fine... I don't need a bath."

Langa wasn't sure what to say. He sensed that Reki wasn't fine, but he didn't press. "Okay. Just let me know if you need anything."

After they finished the first season of their show, Reki got up to go to the bathroom. Langa turned off the TV and lay down in his bed, his thoughts heavy. When Reki returned, he walked slowly into the dark room and slid into bed next to Langa.

"Come here," Langa whispered, pulling him closer into a cuddle. Reki hesitated before finally settling into his arms, but Langa noticed something—he wasn't asleep. In fact, he seemed completely awake, his eyes wide and distant.

"Are you not tired?" Langa asked softly, brushing a strand of hair from Reki's face.

Reki just shook his head, not offering any explanation. Langa played with his hair absentmindedly, trying to find the right words. "You should try and sleep," he suggested gently. "It's good for you."

Reki's response surprised him. "What if I don't want to?"

Langa was taken aback. He didn't know how to respond. He just held Reki closer, trying to offer him comfort in silence.

"Reki," Langa began, "if you get some sleep tonight and eat something in the morning, I'll take you on a date tomorrow. We could go to the skatepark, and then we can hit the arcade afterward. How does that sound?"

Reki's face lit up slightly at the mention of things he loved—skating and the arcade. It was clear that he couldn't resist. "Okay!" he agreed eagerly, his spirits lifting just a little.

And with that, the two of them drifted off to sleep in each other's arms, the weight of the past week slowly melting away. They didn't have all the answers, but in this moment, they had each other—and that was enough.
