Twenty Three

Everything was like a fairy tale for you, how the two of you met, how the two of you took interest in each other, how the two of you slowly fell in love with each other. They said it was young love, indeed it was. You found him in your teenage years and so did he. It was a very cliche story for you, almost to be compared to those you've read in the book.

Somehow it was a wonderful story, how the two of you found each other and fell in love in the process. No one really thought the two of you would make it to the point of marriage, neither did the two of you of course. But then he proposed, and you said yes of course, how could you say no to the only man you could imagine you could spend the rest of your life with?

The preparations where doing well, the invitation was in the making, everyone from your and his family was making sure everything within your weeding would be fine.

Everything was going well.

Until a few weeks before you wedding.

"I have to go"

"Felix.."

"(Your name), I have to go"

He wasn't even facing you when he said those words, he was busy getting ready, gearing up himself as if there was nothing to change his mind, not even you who could only look at him from beside, watching his every move

"I'm sorry"

He spoke, sitting straight as his back was turn against you

"I'm really. really sorry"

He wasn't crying, but that doesn't mean he wasn't suffering

God knows how much he wanted to marry you in days to come, even now

But his country, his empire, his friend needs him right now

It was now or never

They've been planning to over throw the current emperor for awhile now, it was for the greater good and for their survival too, it was for the sake of everyone that he need to put them first

"I'm planning to do the knights oath to Claude"

You could only close your eyes as you try to calm yourself

"I will dedicate myself to the soon to be emperor, to our empire soon"
