After Noah left the room, he went down stairs to grab himself some breakfast... before breakfast. He didn't want anything much so he just grabbed an apple. He tore the sticker off of the red surface of the fruit and put his headphones on. He began watching youtube videos when he heard someone coming down the stairs. Yes, there was an elevator, but some times people just took the stairs. When the door from the stairwell opened, Mark walked out and saw Noah sitting on the couch.
"So, how'd your talk with Ashley go?" he asked, sitting down "Sorry I left. I was really tired."
"Dude, she is so nice!" Noah exclaimed "Whatever questions I asked her, she'd answer without even questioning it."
"So, what'd you ask her?" He sat down next to Noah.
"I asked her about life with Herobrine and Kira. I asked about her lava powers even though she's from The End. I just asked all sorts of questions, but that's not what we need to deal with today."
"What do y- oh right. We gotta be on look out for when she goes out to get food and crap."
"Yeah... well, we should probably go wake her up, and then I just realized how much of a heavy sleeper she is."
"True... let's just wait for the others to wake up. So, whatcha watching?" Noah showed him the bearded canadian man playing a game about cats.
"Usually something I watch when I'm studying or doing homework. Too bad we'll probably never return to the days of... we normality."
"I... yeah, but let's not focus on that right now. Let's just wait for everyone to wake up." The two sat on the couch and laughed at the silly commentary that the man in the top of the screen would spit out while play the admittedly very repetitious game.
About an hour and a half later, people started coming out of their rooms and going about their usual. Kira came out of the room and walked directly to the bathroom. Serenity went into the fridge and grabbed some apple juice, and drank it straight out of the bottle... selfish bitch. Ashley came out of her room and went to the shower room where she washed everything from the pool water out of her hair and body. Bella and Amanda, as usual, went down to the pool to practice for the olympics after all the chaos is over. Avery walked to Betty's grave outside of the hotel. When everyone was ready to get the day started, they all sat down for breakfast and discussed what was needed.
"Alright, so what we need is... the basics," Avery told Ashley "Bread, flour, basically all we need to make some of the basic foods."
"Alright, we can find those in more of the grocery stores than the little market tents," Noah replied "My thinking is that the closer we stick toward the resort, the more likely a chance we'll be able to go out without getting caught."
"I agree," Ashley told them "I'll go get food and Noah with Mark and be outside or inside with me. I'm fine either way, but I will need you two to keep an eye out for any military coming and going. You got that?"
"Yeah, yeah we gotcha," Mark told her "Don't worry, we'll be close, but far enough away so people don't know we're with you." Ashley nodded to him and they all left.
Ashley black jacket with a white rib cage design on it covering her tight red shirt. On her legs she was wearing black jeans and running shoes. Noah was simply wearing black sweatpants, running shoes, and a green t shirt. Mark was wearing a dark red sleeveless t shirt with cargo shorts and more running shoes. They were all in their positions in the place and Ashley was paying for the food.
"Alright then," The clerk told Ashley "That'll be twenty five forty nine please."
"Okay... here ya go." She took her credit card out of her back pocket and gave it to the woman who used it to pay for the items.
"Alright, that's that. Off you go now." Ashley nodded and walked away, but then Noah put up the hand signal.
"Oh shit... uh... where?" She used a hand signal to ask where.
Mark looked back and Noah pointed to Mark and Ashley looked over at him. He pointed to the front door, which was their only way out. Ashley signaled one word, crap. Noah nodded, then gestured to tell her to get out any way she could. She nodded and looked around for a back door. She saw one and gestured to the two to make their ways over. They nodded back to her and slowly made their way to the back door. While the two boys went to the back, Ashley began to walk to the front door to not cause suspicion. Unfortunately for Ashley, someone recognized her, or at least thought she looked familiar. When the military asked if anyone had seen the group, a woman pointed to Ashley.
'Lady, if I see you again, I will murder you,' Ashley thought as the soldiers walked toward her.
Noah and Mark looked back and saw them approaching Ashley, causing them to panic, so Noah asked "What do we do?"
"I don't know," Mark replied "But we gotta do something."
"Alright... uh... hey!" Noah yelled and attracted all of the people's attention "We're... we're the ones you want!" He began running toward them "Come and get it!"
"What're you doing!?" Mark yelled after him.
"Saving you guys!" He replied "Hey, soldiers!" He ran up and punched one of them in the back of the head "You have those fancy guns, but are they loaded?" He grabbed a gun and aimed it at a soldier "You guys gonna tell me or should I find out for myself?"
"Mark... we need to go!" Ashley told him.
"But... Noah! He'll never make it out of here on his own," He told her "We can't leave him!"
"We have to," She explained "He's doing this so we can get away, and we can't let his sacrifice be in vain!"
Mark looked back at Noah, who was still fending off the soldiers, then looked back at Ashley, sighed, and replied "Fine... but if he dies, so help me god, I will do everything in my power to make it so that you go next." Ashley smiled down at him.
"Fine... man, we've really been rubbing off on you guys." They turned and left out the back door, almost unnoticed... almost.
A soldier saw them leave through the door and decided to leave the one and instead go after the two. Noah didn't even notice that one had gone as he continued to fend of his attackers. When the soldier got to the door, he saw that there was a stairwell leading up to the roof. He saw them open the door, but then the girl looked down at him. A look of fear washed over her face as she saw what he was wearing, but then noticed that he was the one Noah had taken the gun from. She hesitated for a moment, then pushed Mark all the way through the door. She looked back down at the soldier, then kicked the railing, causing it to fall down toward him. While the soldier dodged the metal beam, Ashley rushed through the door. When she got through to the roof, she looked their only way of escape behind her.
"Wait, what the hell?" Mark asked "We can't get down... there's no way out. What do we do?" He looked back at the door "Why... did you?"
"A soldier followed us," Ashley told him bluntly and quickly "I stalled him, but for an instant. He's probably half way up the stairs by now. We need to look for a way out of here!"
"Alright... uh... I've been looking, there doesn't seem to be anything. All i saw was that electrical wire, but I don't wanna get shocked..."
"Shit... wait, there's a tree over there. Give me a sec." She jumped off the edge of the roof and grabbed a branch "Arlight, this one seems sturdy enough... lemme just." She stood atop it, then stomped through part of the trunk to detach the branch "Okay, now I only got a second to do this!" She grabbed the branch and jumped off the next one to get back to the roof, and then she landed right in front of Mark "Alright, this one seems sturdy enough... now, what I need you to do is jump and put this over the wire without touching the-" The door was almost kicked open!
"Ashley, go now! I'll hold him back!" Mark told her.
"But... but what about you!?" She cried out "I can't let you two both go down here because I was here!" Ashley was starting to panic more than she had in a long time "I can't let both of you die because we brought you into our shit!!"
"Ashley, I can handle myself," Mark told her "Just go... you, Kira, and Serenity are our best hope of ending this quickly... I need you to get out of here... I'll be fine." Ashley was still hyperventilating, but she was beginning to calm down a little more
"I- okay, but if I see something going wrong, I'm coming back to get you, alright?" They heard the door break.
"Alright... just go! Now!" They turned away from each other, Mark toward the soldier, Ashley toward the wire.
She jumped and used the branch, holding herself up as she rode down to the next building. Mark charged toward the soldier and tackled him to the ground.
"Nrg!" The soldier grunted "Kid, you'll need more than that!" he pulled his legs back and kicked him off of him "Let's dance, kid." He hook punched Mark in the jaw, then took out a pair of electronic handcuffs, and put them over his wrists "Did you really think you could beat me?"
"Hah! You think that was the plan?" Mark asked "Man, I'm just buying her some time to-"
"You... away from him!" Ashley appeared out of nowhere, literally, and punched the soldier in the stomach.
He was still for a moment, only moving slightly, but almost paralyzed. After a couple seconds, however, he went flying through the doorway and down the stairs. He was severely injured by the fall, but was alive by the time he was found.
"You... are really strong," Mark told her.
"I know..." She lifted her fist up "Hold still!" She swung her fist down in a hammer motion and broke the cuffs, severing the link between his hands so he could move freely "Come on."
"But, what about the stick?"
"Broke, hold on. This is gonna feel a little weird." She grabbed his hand and they teleported down to the street "Come on. I already got the food down here, grab a bag and hurry." The two each grabbed a bag and ran to the resort.
"... I'm sorry, Noah."
