Game Over

Chapter 22

The endermen were about to take Avery and the others, but they were suddenly gone. The one above the commander was about to kill him, but he turned into pixels. The commander looked up to see that pixels fly over to CyberDog's house. All of the endermen turned to pixels before they knew what was happening.
CyberDog and Mick got out from behind the table they were hiding behind. Noah and Mark got off of the ground after the light and explosion subsided. They saw fire and destruction everywhere, the entire building had been destroyed. What they saw when they looked up was shocking to say the least. Kira was sitting alone, covered in blood once again. Dreadlord was completely gone, nothing left, just a memory. They could see he was trying to move, but he was too weak to even do that.
Mick ran over to him and said "Come on, Kira, you're alright." he pulled Kira slowly away from the machine, which was still active, somehow "You did it, kid... you did it." he looked into kira's flickering eyes as the boy gave him a weak smile.
"Kira!" Someone screamed as she came into what was left of the building, so Mick looked up and backed off as Serenity ran towards Kira, her eyes filling with tears "Please... please, no..."
She looked up and CyberDog started to get everyone else out, while saying "I think he'd want to be alone with you." He looked at his friends one more time, then he and everyone else walked out of the destroyed building.
When they were gone, Serenity looked down into her best friend's eyes. He was managing to keep himself in an up right sitting positon, so she sat next to him. She leaned her head against his metal arm, not caring that it was hot thanks to the explosion. They looked out at the city, the flames and smoke beginning to be put out by the fire department. Serenity looked up at her friend and saw how damaged he was. His robotic arm was almost completely destroyed and his blind eye was now completely shattered.
He looked up at her and asked "Do you get what I mean now... Seri?"
She looked out over the battle below and replied "Yeah. I get it. The End, this city...  it's just completely destroyed."
"My family is gone. I am the last of us... was the last of us. Soon, I'll join Ash and Kaz up in Aether."
"Kira! I-I'm sorry," Serenity studdered.
"I've tried... all my life! I've only been trying to protect my family and friends from war, bloodshed, and slaughter." He looked out over The City "And yet... I was wrong... way too many times."
She looked down at him and asked "What do you mean?" Genuinely curious.
"I was wrong to think that Dread was gone and lower my guard. I was wrong to lead people into the physical world. I was wrong to lead you... and my family into battle." Kira looked up at his friend, his eyes seeming to flicker and begin to get dimmer "I allowed all the wars to destroy me... everything I was. I let this war destroy my very existence." He looked out at the sunset, then told her "Listen. As soon as I entered this battle, I knew neither of us stood a good chance of walking away from this. I was tired of him and he... well, first he was already dead, but then he turned into... some kind of super powered state. You know I was right at this point."
As Serenity let his words sink in and listened to the sounds of fires below, she realized that he was right. When they had first met, he was just some weird kid who roamed around the woods. A few years after they had met, they remet outside of the base. He was a bit more serious, but basically the same. After the battle in the city against Entity_303, he had grown much more serious. He still had cracked jokes a lot, but not even close to as much as he had before. During the first part of their war against Dreadlord, he cracked very few jokes. After he had fought Ashley, then was brought back by Dreadlord, he had been turned into a psychopathic, blood hungry, mindless, monster. When Prokaz had saved him and they killed Dreadlord, he didn't crack any jokes for a while. After the battle with Dreadlord and the three siblings fought their father, Kira had been a bit of a smartass and talked, but no jokes. After Prokaz died he was practically dead serious, and when Ashley finally died, he snapped. He had barely talked at all until he finally had his final showdown with his father. Everything he had been through had caused his mental breakdown until it all finally came to this moment.
"You wanna know something funny?" Kira asked her, snapping her out of her thoughts "There have been times... where I had forgotten what my name was." Kira began to chuckle at this, but this caused Serenity to gasp.
"Are you being serious?" She asked him, her voice filled with fear.
"Yeah... it just, it just left my mind." He tried to sit up, but blood began flowing from the holes in his chest again, causing him to groan in pain, and fall onto his back again.
"You... forgot... your own name?"
"Yeah... I have a... dark past, you know?" He replied "And my being insane didn't help with that."
"So... is this it?" Serenity asked, her voice cracking as tears began to well up in her eyes "Is this the end?"
He looked out at the sun rise and replied "Yeah... yeah I guess it is." He looked down "I have lost everything. My home, my family. I have nothing left."
Serenity looked down at him, then grimaced, and replied "You haven't lost everything. With our surviving friends' help... I can rebuild The End, and everyone will know who fought to end the warlord who terrorized them."
Kira looked down at her, then replied while laughing weakly "Thank you..." He coughed up another mouth full of blood "Thank you... Seri." He used all of the strength he had to get back up, though he wobbled, he managed to stay on his feet "You know, I've loved the sun rise and set for years. Ash would make jokes that it was because I loved you. The fire engulfing the sky reminded her of your power, and so she joked that maybe that's why I loved it." He looked down at her and she got back up, starring out at the sun rise "I realize now... she was right." She looked up at him "I-"
She suddenly grabbed him by what was left of his shirt and pulled him into a kiss. She held onto him because she was afraid that if she let go, he would fall. If he fell, she knew he wouldn't be able to get back up. He wrapped his biological arm around her because his mechanical one was completely destroyed. He couldn't move it so it just fell limp against his side. His eyes finally faded to pure black and she let him go slowly. She held his dead body as she sat down and she laid him down next to her. She finally let her fatigue take over and she laid down next to him. She looked into his eyes one more time, then fell asleep with her head on his chest.
Kira Sendo, one of the most powerful people she had ever known. The person whom she had seen as an older brother for a long time. The person she loved more than almost anyone else in any world. Her best friend and guardian demon... was dead.
