Game Over

Chapter 13

Noah woke up by getting hit in the back of the head, causing him to yelp "Ow! Fuck... what the hell is... happening..." He saw a right in front of him so he began to read "They'll aim for the head?" He tried to get up out of the seat he was in, but he had been shackled down to it "Argh... wait- my head? Are you gonna shoot me in the head!?"
"Yes... yes we will, if you don't cooperate," Someone told him "Listen, we need to get the location of your friends. The supernaturals." The figure stepped into view and revealed himself.
He was wearing a black jacket with black jeans. He was wearing a white shirt underneath the jacket and wearing a red tie. Her had green eyes and pale skin. His black hair was in a comb over and he had sunglasses on which made it difficult to see his eyes clearly.
"And... why do you want them?" Noah asked "They helped save us... more than once."
"You do realize that everything they stopped, they caused right?"
"Unintentionally," Noah pointed out "You think they would intentionally bring Dreadlord or Entity_303 here? They thought the ladder was dead before all that shit with Tommy went down, and I don't remember you or anyone else doing anything to help us!"
"We didn't have the resources, nor the people willing to put their lives on the line for a single school, but now that they attacked an entire city, that's when we're getting involved."
"Listen, I know you're just trying to help, but turning New York into a freaking police state, hunting down kids? I mean come on, none of us are even twenty fucking years old! The oldest one of us is Ashley, and she's like seventeen or something like that!" The man sat down on the chair in front of Noah "Again, I know you're all just trying to help, really, I get it, but we aren't the real danger. The real danger's gone. Dreadlord's gone. It's over. Just let us be!"
"Listen, kid," The agent stopped him "Firstly, let's get introductions out of the way. I already know your name, Noah, so I'm Agent Mick, but if you want, you don't have to say agent... now, let's get back to business. We're aware that your friend helped Dreadlord in attacking-" Noah suddenly lunged at him, or tried to.
"You shut your mouth!" He yelled "Kira was under mind control! He had no control over what he was doing!"
"We have no way to prove that right or wrong, you know that."
"Why don't you just talk to him, instead of try and bring him in or kill him? Any of them?"
"You know e'd all be safer if they were dead."
"We'd all be safer if you didn't piss them off," Noah corrected him "Ashley can melt anything into lava, Kira's just a straight up time bomb, and Serenity could burn all of you to a crisp withing seconds." Agent Mick leaned back in his chair and coerced his arms over his chest "Listen... if you want them to leave, then just leave them alone. They'll get bored up here at some point and just go back into the computer... it's that easy."
"Unfortunately, we don't have the time for that. Like you said, Kira's a time bomb which we need to defuse before he explodes."
"Trying to stop him will just give us less time to get away if he finally unleashes everything he's got. Just let him be... that's how you defuse him. Everything we've been going through has been taking a toll on all of their minds... Kira and Ashley's especially."
"I really don't think you understand what a danger you're harboring... that's why your friends are also on our most wanted list. Thanks to you kids, everyone in Manhattan is under heavy surveillance and security... and now, thanks to you and your friend Mark... we know exactly where you all are."
"Wait, what!?"
"Oh yeah, you see those cuffs behind your back?"
"Uh, no... because they're behind my back."
"Bit of a smartass, I see, well, I'll explain." Mick got up and began walking in circles around Noah "Those handcuffs have trackers in three parts... the link, and the two wrist cuffs." Noah's eyes widened "When they fled, Ashley didn't break two of the three, she just broke the link between the cuffs." Noah groaned and let his head hang.
"So that's it then, hm?" Noah asked, looking back at Mick without bringing his head up "You go in there and kill or capture them all... and then what?"
"That... is none of your concern," Mick told him as he left "Because you... are already in custody, so just hang tight... you'll see a bunch of your friends soon enough." Mick turned the light off and walked out the door, leaving Noah in total darkness.
Back at the hotel, the group were still trying to get the cuffs off of Mark's wrists. They had already tried Ashley hitting them, a crowbar, Kira turning his arm into a thin, but strong blade, but nothing worked. They tried to pick the lock... and then they remembered that the restraints were magnetically locked together.
"Welp... that idea's shot," Serenity told them "maybe we can use those things to our advantage. Maybe they can be like extra armor for him?"
"Yeah... yeah I guess that's how it's gonna have to be," Mark replied "Thanks guys... but I don't think these things're... coming... off..." They all stopped when they heard something outside the windows.
"What's that?" Avery asked.
"A helicopter!?" Tommy exclaimed.
Suddenly, they all heard footsteps coming up the flight of stairs, and the the door was kicked down by soldiers and the first one yelled "Don't move!"
"Freeze!" they all pointed their guns at anyone in the room
"Everybody, on the ground!" The kids all jumped into action.
Aver kicked a table over and pulled Tommy behind it to give them some cover. He looked around and saw the chairs were still up so he used his telekinesis to levitate the wooden objects.
A soldier saw Mark running into a room and yelled "You, don't move!" She turned and pointed her gun at him.
"Don't even think about it!" Tommy yelled as he launched a chair at her, colliding with her chest, and knocking her out of a window!
Mark closed the door behind him and saw Kira and Ashley standing inside, and seeing Mark's panic, Kira asked "Mark... what's wrong?"
"As you can probably guess... they found us."
"Oh crap," Ashley groaned "Welp, let's fuck some shit up!"
"We gotta warn anyone else who's with us! Bella and Amanda're in the gym, I'll go get them!"
Ashley nodded and replied "Alright. Go!"
Tommy was still throwing chairs and another soldier crashed through a window. When he fell, Tommy grabbed Avery's wrist and dragged her to another room.
"Stop them!" A guard yelled as they chased after the two, but they had already barricaded themselves inside their room.
"How'd they find us?" Tommy asked.
"I dunno!" Avery replied as they held the door down "But we're not getting out of here easily! We need a plan."
The helicopter made another round and spotted them, exclaiming over the megaphone "There are two more on the south side of the building! It's one of the supernaturals as well!"
Tommy used his telekinesis to pull the blinds down, then told Avery "We're getting out of here, some how."
"Yeah, but what about everyone else?" She asked.
"This is a situation where we need to put ourselves over everyone else. Be honest, we need to figure out a way out ourselves."
"I... I- yeah, I know you're right, but I can't let more of my family die!"
"No one else is going to die as long as we have something to say about it, alright?" He used his power to hold the door closed as he turned to Avery "Listen... Avery. You've been my... my best friend... for years! You've been the... the only person who really ever took me seriously out here. My parents were never around, everyone at school would just be... dicks! They could bully me, push me around, treat me like I didn't exist... but then you came along one day." Avery got off the door when she noticed that Tommy was holding it closed with his powers.
"Listen, Tommy, this is al well and good, but this really is not the time," She told him.
"No... no, it really isn't, but this maybe the last time I'm ever gonna get, so I'm taking it... alright?" She nodded "Avery... I... god, how do I put this into words... you mean the world to me, alright? I've felt this way for a long time, and I've never had the courage to say it... but-" She put a hand over his mouth.
"I love you too, Tommy," She told him with a smile "That's why... I need to do this." She knife struck him in the side of the neck, knocking him out "Now, to put you somewhere... oh, what the hell." Avery looked at the dresser "I'm sorry, Tommy, but I gotta do this." She dragged him over, then put him in the dresser, and closed the door, then put it in front of the door before the soldiers could kick it down "Now, to take care of that chopper." She grabbed the vase on the table on her side of the bed, then threw it through the window, breaking it "Let's do this." She got onto the edge of the window, then jumped to the roof, grabbing the edge, then pulled herself up, and turned around to see the chopper, face to cockpit.
Bella and Amanda were both in the top floor of the gym and were already barricaded against the soldiers. They got to the balcony of the floor and looked back at the door. The soldiers were already trying to get in.
"Shit, Amy! What the hell do we do?" Bella asked.
"I dunno, but I do have one idea." She looked down "We have to jump down the balconies!"
"What!? Are you freaking insane?"
"We don't have a choice!" Amanda yelled at her.
"She's right!" the two looked up and saw Avery jump onto the roof "I'm keeping this chopper distracted so you two can get away! Also, take these pillows!" She threw them down to her friends "When they get here, jump, and let these fall! They'll think they're you two and leave to find everyone else!"
"You're both crazy!" Bella told them
"Bell, we don't have another option!" Amando reminded her "We have to do this now, hurry!" The door was kicked down and the two looked back at the soldiers.
"I... alright, fine! Let's go!" They jumped over the balcony, then threw the pillows down to the ground.
They grabbed the edge of the balcony and swung themselves into the next floor down. The soldiers looked down at the pillows, now noticing that they were pillows, not bodies. After a few seconds, the leader of the squad turned and left, the others following behind her. The two heard the soldiers walk down the stairs, but they did not search any more of the rooms. They both sigh and turned, leaning their backs against the wall, and sitting next to each other. Bella, who was exhausted from the arguing, the stress, and the maneuver they had just pulled, fell asleep. Bella's body fell against Amanda, who was also about to pass out, but she kept herself conscious. She put an arm around her friend's shoulders and undid the braid Bella had put her long hair into. When the hair spilled out over Bella's head, Amanda ran her fingers through her friend's hair. She looked down at her small friend as she slept, her head leaning against her shoulder. She wrapped both arms around Bella's shoulder, her arm brushing Bella's breasts, but that didn't matter in this moment to Amanda. The two sat there for a long time as the soldiers kept attacking everyone else.
Avery was still staring down the helicopter, in which the pilot yelled "Stay still and stand down! This doesn't need to get any more insane than it already is!"
The girl cracked her neck, took her jacket off, which left her with just a black tank top, tied the jacket around her waist, and told them "If you wanna stop me... you'll have to catch me first!" She turned and ran.
"She's running! Get her!"
When she got to the edge of the roof, Avery launched herself to the pool building. She rolled on top of the building, then jumped to the pipe o the side of the building. She slid down the metal tube and looked up to see the helicopter trying to find her. She crept around the back of the building to see if she could get herself out. She, somehow, missed the sound of the helicopter blades as they turned and looked at her.
"She's there! Arm the darts!"
"Darts? What me-" She jumped out of the way of a dart, which she assumed was a tranquilizer "Oh shit." She continued to run, dodging, rolling, and jumping away from the darts.
Kira and Ashley were running from the soldiers, not wanting to hurt them more than they had to. Since they were wearing what they had grabbed from Tommy's house before getting to the hotel, they didn't have any protection, rather than their usual armored clothes. They got back to the living room when a soldier jumped ot from behind the kitchen island and pointed her rifle at them.
"You two, get on the ground!" She began talking into he radio "Echo team, this is Tango Five. we have the two Send-" Suddenly, she was knocked out by Serenity who kicked her in the back, then knife struck her in the neck, incapacitating Tango Five.
"Come on!" She yelled to the two "We gotta get out of here!" They nodded and charged toward the door that led to the elevator and stair well.
Kira and Serenity went to the stairs while Ashley followed behind to make sure no one followed them. As she turned around and the two younger kids went into the stairs, the elevator door began to open. While it opened, she saw Vordus standing inside, his axe over his shoulder. With him were seven or eight endermen in the metal box. She turned to the two and kicked the door, closing it, and jamming it!
"Ashley!" Kira yelled as she melted the door closed so that they wouldn't get back in "Ash, what are you doing!?" She turned away from the door and turned back to the endermen, teleporting away, just to reappear with her spear in her hand.
"I'm sorry, Kira," She told him through the door "But I have to do this..."
