Loralie was hesitant as to if she should be there, her best friend seemed off for some reason. They had always had a close connection, and had each others back. Why now was she acting so weird? As soon as she raised her hand to knock on the front door of Melanie’s house, the door swung open. “Loralie! Come, come” Melanie ushered. Loralie was suspicious, but stepped inside anyways. What could she want? Is she in trouble? I mean she has gotten in a few sticky situations in the past, but she didn’t seem upset, loralie thought to herself. She looked.. excited almost. “Would you like water, wine-?” Melanie shot a sweet smile. “ah, no thanks. I stopped drinking a while ago, water would be fine.” Melanie’s smile quickly turned dull. “of course, here go sit down while I get your drink.” She said. Loralie was questioning if she should run out or follow her friends directions. But what would be the fun in leaving? She made her way across the room, sitting on a dark brown couch opposite of the coffee table. She clicked her teeth, looking around the room. Nothing had changed, it’s all been the same as it was last year, and the year before. She knew Melanie didn’t like change, which she could understand perfectly. Loralie jumped when Melanie popped out of nowhere, handing the glass to loralie. “alright, what is it you need? You obviously called me here for something important, right?” she questioned. She was hoping Melanie just wanted to keep in touch and see each other, but she soon realized she was wrong. Loralie watched as she made her way across the room, sitting on a chair opposite of her. She pulled out a card from her jacket pocket, sliding it across the table. “I heard you weren’t doing so well. I know you’re having a hard time right now, so I talked to a close friend of mine who told me about this amazing mental hospital and—” “wait.” Melanie quickly shut her mouth as loralie cut her off. “why are you talking to other people about my problems in the first place? I don’t even know them, besides I don’t need to go to a mental hospital I’m perfectly fine, for your information.” Melanie reasoned with her. “Just… take the card. It will make me feel better, okay? Please?” loralie sighed and picked up the card. “Translucent hope hospital..? This just sounds like a scam.” She protested. But, she slipped it into her pocket. “is that all?” loralie asked, unamused. “yep! No worries, I need to get ready for my date tonight” Melanie giggled. Ugh, again? She gave her friend a forgiving look and grabbed her coat. “alright then little player, don’t have too much fun without me~” Loralie laughed as Melanie pushed her out the door In a hurry.
