She had spent hours gathering things in huge tubs, and dragging them to a storage room, near the kitchen. She had found a bunch of books in a doctors room, she gathered a mattress and blankets, a few snacks from the kitchen, and some extra clothes. She had also found a flashlight and a marker laying around another room. She had took some of the boxes from the storage room to Dr. Senka’s room instead. Loralie used a lot of the boxes to make a blanket fort, making it more cozy. It was a pain in the ass to get everything together, but she felt accomplished afterwards. Maybe being abandoned wasn’t the worst thing in the world anyway. When she was done, it felt like something only a child would dream of. She took a look at the books, there was nothing else to do until she fell asleep. They were mostly about science, anatomy, phycology, medicine, and just doctor stuff. But she found some books in the horror genre, which made her much more interested. It didn’t take long for her to fall asleep, for the first time in what felt like forever. What else was she going to do until she got out of there? There was nothing else to do but find a way out. If she didn’t die in the facility, she would die trying to escape. Her hopes weren’t high at all, mostly because of her bad luck. Or just her stupid decisions. Theodore had a storage urge to come here, and so did she. Why? Who would do this? Melanie? Loralie thought she was a good person, could she be one of the doctors? Or even worse, was she the one who started this whole mess? Just a few hours went by when she felt something. Something.. soft. What could it be? Her brain was still hazy and tired, but she decided to check it out anyways. Sitting up, she moved her leg. Whatever was touching her immediately scrammed and slammed into a box. A rat? She jerked up and dashed her eyes around the room. Her hand searched desperately for the flashlight. Finally gripping hold of it, she flashed the thing. Bright eyes looked up at her, scared as can be. It was a cat, a small scrawny cat. It looked well fed and brushed, so it couldn’t have been stray for long. Loralie’s heart lifted when she realized; that cat got in! And not too long ago! There was a way out then, right? The little kitty meowed at her, and brushed up against her leg again. It was grey, and had long fur. Her heart absolutely melted when she saw it had two different colored eyes. One yellow, and one blue. Loralie had made a friend in a hellhole, but it felt just right. “I’m gonna name you.. hmm.. Nikki. Yes! Nikki.” She whispered to it. Loralie took the cat and flipped her over on her belly. “awe you’re a cutie now aren’t you?” she giggled. Food would be a problem, the poor cat will go starving after a short while in this place. Was stew healthy for cats? Well she knew for a fact that human flesh wasn’t Nikki’s first choice. Loralie decided once and final: she was going to find a way out of there. And fast. She didn’t mind dying, but taking a cats life just because she was being stupid and stalling wasn’t in her best interest whatsoever. She pet Nikki lovingly, as it was her only friend. She could tell that Nikki liked her company as well. What a rare but beautiful opportunity this was, and it kept loralie going. Now she knew for sure that there was a way to the outside world.
