“2,1..” the loudspeaker went quiet. A few moments passed, both loralie and Theodore dead silent as they waited. Nothing. Nothing? Were they safe? Just then, the metal door opened. Dr. Senka walked in the chamber. “good n-” her sentence was cut off by a flash of red. What was going on? Loralie thought to herself. Dr. Senka rushed to grab Theodore and loralie. “Code red. Evacuate immediately. Code red. Code red. Evacuate immediately.” A loud voice rang through the halls, as all of the doors opened. Patients and doctors ran down the hallway, all rushing into each other like a herd of animals. “No.. No damnit!” Dr. Senka yelled. “Follow me, we’re going to find an exit.” She ordered over the screaming and sirens. Loralie grabbed Theodores wrist and held onto the back of Dr. Senka’s ponytail, making sure they wouldn’t get separated in the mass of people. As they ran through endless halls, she caught a glimpse of the exit. They were some of the last ones out, she realized. Just then, loralie tripped and lost her grip. She only had a matter of seconds to get up, but her body was paralyzed. She couldn’t move her arms or legs out of pure shock. Was she going to end up like the other girl? Crushed? Theodore pushed Dr. Senka out the exit, and reached his hand out for loralie. “come on get up!” he yelled, but everything seemed so faded away. It was so quiet and peaceful, it almost felt like death to her. Theodore grabbed loralie’s arm and tried to drag her the rest of the way. His hands were so sweaty, he couldn’t keep a firm grip. Loralie snapped back to reality. She and Theodore were the only ones in the facility. “run Theodore, Get out of here! Leave me behind right now!” she screamed. Tears filled his eyes. He shook his head in disbelief. “no loralie I can’t. Please get up please loralie” he begged. “get out!” she screamed at the top of her lungs. He hesitated for a second, and turned the other way, rushing out the large door with the doctors. They grabbed him as he yelled at them that there was still someone in the hospital, but they closed the door and locked it from the outside. Loralie suddenly whipped her head around to see a thick mist forming her way. Was it the gas? “damn!” she kicked herself off from the floor, and sprang to the door, banging on it for someone to let her out. It only took a matter of seconds for her to realize what she had done. He was trying to save her, but she just yelled at him. Hot tears stung her face, as the gas grew closer and closer. This was the end, huh? A simple thought turned into the end of her life. Although It was a pretty neat way to die, she thought as she laughed. Loralie took a step forward, into the mist. As soon as she did, her blood ran cold and the whole room around her faded to black.
