After Dr. Senka had taken their blood samples, she had led them back to their cell. Loralie and Theodore stepped in, as the metal door slammed behind them. Loralie felt sick to her stomach, almost bursting out in tears. Theodore walked ahead, and lay on the floor, staring at the ceiling. He closed his eyes, and relaxed himself. She was confused as to how he could be so clam after knowing what they are dealing with. Instead, she sat down next to him and took his hand. “we’re going to make it out of here, I promise.” She whispered, And put her back on the wall leaning her head up. Hours passed, and they heard another bang on the door. It flew open again, as Dr. Senka stormed in. “I need to bring you two somewhere, come.” Her voice was Shaky, and she seemed almost scared. As the three of them stepped out of the room, people flooded the hallway. Other patients! All of them moved down the hall, forced by the other doctors. Taking a few right turns, all of them spread out into a large common area. It was the place they were before, where the man had been shot. His body had been cleaned up already, as if nothing had happened. The old white haired man came on the stage once more, mic in his hand. “There is urgent news, due to a certain doctor who made a foolish decision. Not only is this news for our patients but also to our fellow doctors.” Everyone in the room perked up, as loralie shot a glare at Dr. Senka, who lowered her clipboard slowly. Theodore touched her arm, motioning her to pay attention. The man spoke once more. “there are two gas tanks in the 3rd laboratory, as most of the doctors know. Unfortunately whoever was in that laboratory didn’t label them. One of them is filled with a deadly gas, the other with gas that will only effect you short term depending on your blood type. We will need to find out which one it is, we have spent years on those, through trial and error. We cannot afford to lose them.” There were whispers throughout the crowd, and some fainting. The doctors looked scared and confused. “we will hold off as long as possible, as we cannot risk losing any doctors. If in this emergency, you will all have to leave immediately. The doctors and staff here will escort you out of the building, as we need as much of you as we can. Thank you.” The man said, turning and disappearing backstage. Shocked yells of protest rang out and echoed in the room. And with that, everyone was pushed back onto the hallways, forced back into their rooms. Patients were pushing and shoving each other, scared for their lives. A girl who looked a little younger than loralie was pushed into the wall of the hallway, and collapsed onto the floor. She gasped and tried to help the girl up, but was forced forward. As she stepped over the girl, a man had unknowingly crushed the girls head, as blood sprayed from the 17-looking-year-old, making loralie run faster, grabbing Theodores hand. She dragged him along, catching up to Dr. Senka. The doctor looked worried, and grabbed loralie’s hand. As soon as she got to their room, Dr. Senka slammed the door as usual. Everything had gone by so quickly, loralie had no time to process what had just happened. Gas? Tanks? What was going on?
