A loud screeching noise pierced loralie and Theodores ears, jolting them awake. “Alright everyone, good morning! Welcome to your first day at translucent hope. We will escort you shortly!” a voice sounded over a loud speaker. My god, could they be any more fake? Theodore flashed a small smile at her. “good morning loralie” he said sweetly. She told him good morning, rubbing her eyes. A loud bang on their door caught their attention. It flew open, the woman with glasses and a lab coat looked around their room. Loralie remembered her from when she escorted her the day before. “My name is Dr. Senka. I will be working with you two from now on.” She said with a dull expression. Her empty stare flashed with anger. “well what are you waiting for lets go come on now!” Dr. Senka yelled, motioning then to follow her. Loralie and Theodore sprang up, rushing to the doctor. Leading them down a few more hallways, they passed other cells, that were glass. Her heart sank when she saw the patients huddled in corners, laying in the floor, loralie even saw one banging his head on the glass, blood squirting from his head onto the floor. She flinched, not knowing how long they had been in there. The layout of the hallways were like jail cells, people screaming in the glass chambers, one in each room. “we keep them in separate cells in case they eat the other cellmate. We just hope you guys aren’t insane enough to do the same.” Dr. Senka banged on the glass of one cell, frightening the woman inside to stop screaming. The glass was so thick, she couldn’t even hear anything. I guess that’s so that they can’t communicate or break out, loralie thought to herself. Dr. Senka led them down a few more hallways, into a large room with one single chair. “this is the testing room. You will come here under my control to get tests done, making sure you are fit enough. We don’t want any of you to be unhealthy.” She explained. “onward.” The doctor pushed up her glasses and fixed her brown hair off of her face. She had led them down to different rooms, explaining what each one did. Dr. Senka seemed generous, loralie had never thought they would get a tour. Wouldn’t that be a little risky? What if we wanted to break out? Her head spun with ideas, ignoring everything Dr. Senka was saying. Unfortunately there was no exit in sight, nor windows. What time was it again? “tomorrow we will begin testing. For now, all we need is a blood sample.” She said, holding a clipboard in her left hand. Leading the two down to a room, she sat both of them down on a chair. “arm.” She said. They both held their arm out as she demanded. “right arm.” She eyed Theodore. He sighed and held out his other arm.
