Moments turned into minutes, as the screaming silence pieced everyone’s ears. The silence was quickly broken as a man shouted from the crowd. “no! You can’t make me sign this bullsh-“ and with that a gunshot sounded. It rang out as everyone backed up quickly, screaming. Oh my god, what.. what was happening? There’s no way this is real, Loralie thought. She made eye contact with the boy next to her who’s eyes flashed with fear. She wanted to move like everyone else, but her body wouldn’t lift a finger. People were scrambling around her like mice, fearful of their lives. The boy was still staring at her, until she gathered the strength to duck down from the crowd and cover her ears from the screams splitting through the air. A loud bang sounded, and the people in the room froze in fright. “excuse me, but this is no way to treat your host. Everyone settle down, this is an excellent learning example!” his face brightened once more. “you see, if you disobey the orders we give you, then you will have no orders ever again.” Loralie lifted her head up and got to her feet. “As you have figured out, this is a place of help, not hopelessness. We will fix you using a new scientific method. What you just signed is your permission to take place in this revolutionary movement.” The doctor straightened up and cleared his throat. “your escorts will take you to your rooms.” With that, the women and men with lab coats pushed everyone out of the large room, into the hallways. They led loralie and the rest of the victims into a hallway with rooms on either side. “two in a cell at most. We choose.” One of the men said calmly, pushing his glasses up on his face. Then a few people with lab coats pushed people into a room, two by two at random. Suddenly loralie was grabbed by the hair along with someone else, and whisked away in an instant. The woman threw her onto the floor and slammed the door while locking it. Loralie lay in the center of the room for a moment, until she heard a grunt from next to her. Startled, she scrambled to her feet. Her head was still foggy as she held onto the wall for support. Clearing her head and drying to focus from the fall, her eyes drifted towards where the noise came from. It was the young man, the one from a few minutes ago. He stood up, blood pouring out of his nose as he also straightened himself out. Slowly he looked up at loralie’s upset and scared face. He had a tall figure, with dark hair and pale skin. Loralie immediately ran over for support. She tore a bit of cloth from the cot she saw in the corner of the white room, and rushed over to the boy. “hey take this, it will help.” She ushered. Loralie backed away, expecting him to lash out at her, as most men she tried to help did. But instead, he took the cloth. “Thank you, dear” he grunted with an English accent. “what might your name be?” the boy asked, stretching himself onto his cot. Loralie sat down slowly on the cot she had on the other side of the room. “My name is loralie, loralie Yuuiski.” She exclaimed with a sweet smile. “What a beautiful name that is” The accent he was speaking In really soothed her, and made her feel comfortable. “er.. what about you? What’s your name?” she questioned, not wanting to sound desperate. “my name is Theodore, but you can just call me Theo if you prefer.” Theodore sighed, coping with the fact he was bleeding everywhere. “pardon me, I’m so sorry” he chuckled. “Oh no its not a problem, how long have you been here If I might ask?” Theodore looked up, and his eyes glimmered in the bright light above. “I’m not sure how long I have been here. It feels like it was just a half hour or so, but when I got here I blacked out.. curious..” Loralie gasped and got up from her cot. “that is so weird.. this happened to me too. We need to find a way out of here, I need to know what’s going on.”
