Diagnosed as quirkless at the age of 4, Izuku Midoriya had lost all hope of becoming a hero. When Izuku was 5 years old, he was watching his idol, All might fight what was assumed by many to be a villian, which turned out to be a low ranking demon of the twelve kizuki. All might was able to hold his own against the inhuman opponent, but could not defeat him. Fortunately for the number 1 hero, he was saved by a hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, who's existence had been kept secret until then. Shortly after the incident, the government had officially recognized the demon slayers, given the same rights as heroes, and even created an academy for all those will to take up arms and join the fight against demons.
When the head of the demon slayer corps revealed that many of it's members were quirkless, izuku saw this as an opportunity for him to be able to protect people, to become another kind of hero.
