Asta and Liebe had managed to kill Lucifero and avenge their mother, however they had both suffered a fatal wound in their fight with the Devil King and laid dying on the battlefield. Their consciousness faded as they drew their last breath. They thought it was the end, until they eventually came to and found themselves in the middle of a forest, alive and well. After traveling for some time, they discovered they were in a completely different world where the people train to fight with their bodies and minds instead of using magic, which practically doesn't exist. While traveling, they would hunt the large monsters that inhabit this world, not only for training but for food as well. Then, one day, they come across a town that was under siege by Esdeath's forces. The brothers step in and fight off the raiders until the enemy's general come and takes up the fight.
Asta and Liebe were able to counter everything Esdeath threw at them and even managed to sever one of her arms. Seeing that she couldn't win, the general chose to retreat and the brothers would soon continue their travels.
The news of them defeating Esdeath spread far and wide across the country and eventually reached the ears of the Revolutionary Army. In response to this, they tasked the band of assassins, Night Raid to search and recruit them. After a while of searching, they eventually found the magic knight and his devil brother camping on a mountain. The leader of Night Raid spoke to them for a little while before asking them to join their team. Will Asta and Liebe join the revolution and bring an end to the Empire?
