Asta, a magicless orphan abandoned on the doorstep of a small church, was bullied and mocked by everyone in his village and grew to resent them as they believed that he would never make it in the world where magic is everything. He despised being treated so harshly and being weak even moreso, and chose to train his physical abilities to compensate for his inability to use magic in order to prove the naysayers wrong. Then, one day, Asta was approached by a young monk with white hair in the middle of training. The monk apparently knew the orphan as he had called him by his name, which Asta found strange. The mysterious monk explained that he was born with a power far greater than magic and revealed to him that he had been watching over the boy since birth from the shadows as he was sworn to protect him due to his lineage, he was a descendant of Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses. He offered to train the orphan to use the abilities he inherited from his ancestor to achieve whatever goal he seeks, and Asta accepted without hesitation. With that, Asta and his new guardian left the village and began their journey to make the magicless orphan, the next King of Curses.
