After losing to Shirou Emiya, the King of Heroes, Gilgamesh, had found himself in another world. One where magic is everything. However, he wasn't simply reincarnated with a body of his own. No, he found himself within the body of an ashen haired orphan without any magic power at all. For much of the boy's life, he was unaware of the existence of the Heroic Spirit dwelling within him. That is, until after the Elf Incident and false accusations of him being the culprit behind it, which resulted in him being exiled from the kingdom and left to wander the treacherous neutral territory.

A day after his banishment, the boy, Asta, had fallen asleep in a cave and was finally able to meet Gilgamesh within his mind. Gilgamesh had told Asta that he had been watching him for all of his life and couldn't help but feel admiration and pity for him after watching his life play out, and gave him quite an interesting offer. The King of Heroes offered to give Asta his powers and abilities and use them to recreate his kingdom of Uruk within the neutral territory, where may forge a safe haven for all those who were rejected by the world's society and discriminated against for being born with little to no magic power. Intrigued by this proposal, the former Magic Knight accepted and began to work towards building a nation where magic supremacy is outlawed.

What kind of challenges and experiences await the successor of the King of Heroes on his quest to build his own kingdom?
