A cruel joke played by fate
To have you for such a short sweet moment
Then the next be ripped away
Why couldn't our worlds collide at different times
When we were prepared to love, when we weren't just fine
I see the stars in your eyes, they take over the night sky
Shining so damn bright they started to light up mine
But once they dimmed, I knew it was time
This heart break is excruciating, but you need to be alone to hike this climb
I can't tell you how much I hate the stars right now
They know our fate, yet they tease me somehow
To know where we go, and be so coy
It is evil to make us wait for joy
Maybe you are my right person
And maybe this is just the wrong time
But if, in case, it was not meant to be this way
Maybe it will change in the next time line
Written in the stars, the same ones that burn in your eyes
Our fate is sealed
Is wanting to know it such a crime?
