Pepper wandered around the tower, mostly with either Steve or Tony, sometimes with you. She really had been possessed, because she was like a mother/girlfriend to Tony, and she was just a really helpful girlfriend to Steve. The three had come to terms, and formed a polyamorous relationship, which was one of the few good things of the day. The other good thing was that Lucifer was a fucking idiot and used up a lot of his power to move his troops to upstate California, which was on the other side of the country. He didn't move far, because he nearly fainted just getting off his mode of transport. He was in no fit state to work.

Raphael had been cooperative, even if that meant him threatening you and Loki only to be kicked. He taught you to harness your Cyndarian power a lot easier, and you tested it out on him, making sure it only hurt him to the point of near unconsciousness.

Loki however, was becoming irritable. He was constantly worrying, not eating much, and one day he didn't even move from his spot on the bed, because he was reading to keep his min off of the idea of Lucifer's oncoming assaults. You were getting sick of it, and dragged him to the bathroom, telling him to strip and get in the bathtub. Much to your disappointment, he didn't even twist that into something dirty minded. You sat at the edge of the bathtub, sleeves rolled up and stared at him, soaking in a metaphoric ton of bubbles. He'd gotten thinner, less handsome, actually. The rings under his eyes were darker. You didn't know what to say to him. As you were thinking, you didn't notice him cup his bubble-covered hand over yours, and smiled weakly.

"I know, love." He smiled. You shook your head, feeling teary.

"Actually, you have no clue. I know you're worried, but that doesn't mean you have to make me worry about you." You said slowly, grabbing a sponge and dunking it into the water. You poured the water over his head, and he didn't even react to it. You leaned forward, placing a hand to his forehead. He was getting sick, you could feel it.

"And I'm sorry about that. I never wanted for anything like this to happen." He said.

"What do you mean 'like this?'" You asked, cocking an eyebrow. "What aren't you telling me now?"

Loki sighed. "Lucifer knew of three others like you. All young adults, all hybrids-which is what you are called. The others all knew about it, and practically ruled over everyone else. However, someone in every realm wanted them dead, because they knew that if you were allowed to roam, some power hungry fool would try to use your own power against you.

"Lucifer is a power hungry fool, but before he could reach the others, they died. Your brother isn't a hybrid. Hybrids are only females. However, he is a sorcerer. Anyway, the other hybrids were dead, one by execution, one by assassinated, and the last by suicide. I wanted to go after you, because you would be the simplest. However... I became attached. I wanted to help you. To help you defeat him and keep people safe and to make myself no longer a man of fear. I was going to kill you, but instead I fell in love. A little clichéd, isn't it?" He smirked.

You punched him, right in the jaw. As he looked up again, he continued talking. "You don't get it though. If I had killed you, he would have destroyed everything anyway. He would have arrived in your hometown to a severe lack in hybrids, and still, everyone would still be dead. He'd have killed them all, and come after me, and then decimated Asgard. The body count is far lower than it could have been. What I did was stupid, but killing you would have been even more so." He stopped talking, waiting for a reaction. You wanted to run off again, or punch him, or cry, but you mostly wanted to hug him. He was a dumbass, but he was your dumbass. You sighed.

"You better tell me you have at least some clothes on."

"I have underpants on." He smiled. "Unless you'd rath-"

"Keep them on Mr Hasty." You glared. "I'm making sure that I'm not going to accidently see anything I don't want to." Loki winked at you, making you smile. You filled the sponge with water again, pouting it on it head afterwords. He didn't look so strained, just sitting there. He looked like he'd fall asleep any moment.

That didn't happen though.

It's so much like Loki these days. Making you freak out or get angry or upset and then somehow coax you into being his little spoon. It was annoying to admit you ahted being angry at him, because of what he's so great at doing. He would never admit it to anyone but you, but cuddling was a major hobby of his. If Thor found out Loki would never stop getting picked on for it. Steve, Pepper and Tony were on the other side of the couch, somehow doing a three-way hug, and all five of you were watching a horror movie. You watched as Rose and the police officer who's name you alway's forgot continued to scream while Pyramid Head attacked the big metal door. You were smiling, Tony was making sure Steve wasn't having a panic attack and Loki and Pepper watched contently. Loki seemed to like the Silent Hill movie, freaking out only when the armless creatures from the pit showed up. He did NOT like those things.

Steve looked over at you and called out 'How the heck aren't you scared!?", only to make you start laughing and ook over.

"I've watched my brother play the games. This is nothing compared to those. If this freaks you out then I suggest you never watch Sinister." You say, only making him sigh. Tony just roled his eyes. Pepper stood up for a second walking over. She sat next to you, and spoke as you watched the movie.

"Did... did Loki do anything with me while I was... possesed?" She asked. You shook your head violently.

"No- Hell no. He did nothing but tell you off for being a bitch. Because that's exactly what Mary was. She was horrible to everyone and was even worse when it came to Fluer's cooking."

"Fluer?"

"A friend."

"Ah, that explains it." Loki looked down at her.

"Mary was horrible. I may have punched her once for trying to hurt Fluer." Loki said. "Nobody hurts Fluer around me. That poor girl has been through enough." You glanced up at him, and all he said was "I will tell you later." Pepper nodded, smiling and disappeared back over to Tony and Steve. You watched most of the movie in silence, only speaking up when the church scene happened, and when Rose and Sharon couldn't make it back to the Mortal Plain. Everyone but you was confused.
