It couldn’t have been a quieter day at the diner you worked at, every now and then a person or a small group would come in but otherwise it was silent and calm. Sitting at the counter reading The Fault in our Stars, out of character for a person of your age but it was a great book and one of your favorites since high school.

Hearing the bell on the door jingle you got up, turning to see a beautiful redhead standing in the door frame. She didn’t look much older than you and stood around the same height, she was just an inch or two taller.

You both shared a smile as you walked up to her, “Welcome to the Moondance diner, I’m (Y/N) and I’ll be your server”. She smiled at you again and kicked off some of the snow from her boots onto the mat,

“Hi, booth for one please.” Good god it was like her voice was made of pure honey, hiding your slight blush you led her to a booth in one of the corners of the diner.

“Our special of the day is the chicken and dumplings,” getting out your notepad you grab your pen ready to write down the mysterious woman's order.

“Can I get you anything to drink to start with?”

She skimmed over the menu and looked up at you.

“Can I get a coffee please? And if it's not too much of a hassle, an order of chicken and dumplings?” You nod and take down her order.

“Coming right up, sweetheart.” You walk over to the window and put up your order, ringing the little bell to gain the cooks attention and starting on making her coffee. After delivering her the coffee and helping the few other customers in the diner her order comes up.

Setting her food down you smile, “Enjoy, If you need anything else just call for me.” Turning to leave you’re stopped by a hand wrapping around your wrist.

You turn back to her and she smiles up at you, “I’m sorry but I was wondering if I could possibly get your number. I would feel stupid if I passed up the chance to get an attractive person’s number.” You’re in shock. This absolute goddess of a woman wanted your number? Nodding your head you grab your phone from your back pocket, unlock it, and give it to the woman.

She chuckles and hands back your phone. Natasha is what’s put under the contact as, of course she had a beautiful name. “You better text me then, Natasha.”

She couldn’t have loved the way her name rolled off your tongue more, it just sounded so soothing and natural. Walking away you couldn’t help but feel like you were walking on air. The nightly rush had finally hit so you were only able to talk to Natasha when you had given her the check and collected her dishes. When the rush had finally finished and everyone was content you turned to her table, a small sliver of you had hope that she hadn’t left yet but to your dismay she was gone.

Wiping off the table you smile to yourself, already excited for the text you would hopefully get.
