Renjun was sure he was just carrying the month-old baby just yesterday, but when he woke up to reality, the first thing he saw was the crawling two-year-old child with her face a meter close to him.
And the moment he opened his eyes, she greeted him with a loud roar, knocking him over by his chest, which made him roll on his back.
"You're waking up so early these days", he sleepily mumbled while rubbing his daughter's back, the baby lying flat above him.
"Dada"
"Hmm?"
"Dadada"
Renjun looked down at her, seeing her little index finger pointing to the door.
"You wanna go out? Where's mommy?"
"Oooh waaa", she babbled, still pointing at the door.
"I don't know what you're talking about, but give me five minutes; let's head down."
"Dada!", she hits his chest with both hands, making Renjun let out an oof by the force.
He sat up, holding her, and placed her on his lap, narrowing his eyes like he's preparing for a scold.
"You don't hit Dada like that", he said while pointing a finger.
"Dada blawaahaf", Heejoo responded while making the same gestures.
"Oho! You don't talk back. Apologize."
"Aaa aaahhh!"
"And now you're angry?"
"Mmmmmfff", her brows furrowed for a second, forcefully dropping her hand with a light pucker on her lips.
It made Renjun laugh and raise her up, nuzzling their noses together as he left the bed.
"Yep, you're your mother's daughter."
"Maaaaaaaa!"
Jihye snapped back, hearing the baby's squeal, yet panic surged on her when she saw the male holding Heejoo like she's flying.
The two-year-old child didn't look scared, though; she equally looked delighted.
"Good morning, my love."
Jihye placed a hand on his puckering lips. "Have you brushed your teeth yet?"
"I already took a quick shower and brushed my teeth, you see, but I kissed Heejoo before that."
"Oh, what a clingy father you are~", she lightly pushed his face away and grabbed her tote bag. "Remember to feed Heejoo just enough foods, okay? And check her diaper every now and then. I will be home at five, so— what are you two doing?"
