I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I took over Begonia. Everything has been hectic but in a good way. We actually had to create a waiting list…..can you believe it? I sat in my living room thinking about everything that has taken place since opening Begonia and living here in Vegas. It's been a crazy year and I’m not sure how I’ve mentally gotten through it.

Umm duh! It's because of me.

Ha! Yeah, you’re right, Ollie. I wouldn’t have made it without you.

Awe, come on bro. You bouta make me cry.

I also stopped my search for a new owner and it definitely wasn’t because I didn’t have offers. Ollie cursed me out for two weeks straight for one of the offers I turned down. I don’t blame him, it was a lot of money.

Don’t remind me, I’m getting mad all over again.

My phone was going off as usual but I didn’t answer any of the calls, I just wanted to enjoy my morning.  I took a shower and put on some sweat pants and black t-shirt, had some fruit salad, toast and peppermint tea. I even took a little nap before getting up and starting my day. When I looked at my phone….15 missed calls. Before I could continue it rang again.

“Hello?”

“Yes, this is the Vegas City Police Department. I’m detective Macks, I need you to come down to the station. I have a few questions about an incident that happened at the warehouse on Carver road.”

“Why would I know anything about that?” I guess I was wrong thinking that night was behind me.

“We have camera footage of you walking out and you looked injured. It’s just a few questions.”

“Can’t you just ask me now? I have a business to run and I don’t want to be late.”

“Don’t you make your own hours? You own it, how can you be late?”

“Time is money, Detective.”

He laughed. “I understand. Well, what was your reasoning for being at the warehouse that night?” he then asked.

“Some petty criminals were trying to rob me and hold me for ransom, I guess. They started arguing amongst each other, things got physical and I got out of there while they fought each other.”

Not sure if he bought it but that’s all I could come up with at that moment.

“Hmm, why didn’t you contact the police?”

“I just wanted to get back home. And I don’t have any idea who these men were or what they looked like, it would have been a waste of your time.”

“Next time let us be the judge of that, Mr. Davis. If you remember anything else that happened, please don’t hesitate to call the station. I will be keeping contact with you about this investigation.”

“Ok, thank you Detective.”

After that call I knew I was officially being watched from then on out. But that’s not a negative thing and if the law is keeping an eye on me then it will see any potential threats that come my way also.

Somewhere in the basement of a nightclub, four men sat around a long table. All of them represent a different family of organized crime. The Tenchi clan, Clover clan, Asante clan and Brookshire clan. These names trace back many generations, having a hand in everything that keeps the major industries going and profiting.

"I heard Stonewell left the country. Who's going to take care of Cooper's case?" Asked Flynn of the Clover clan.

"Why did he leave the country is what I want to know…" Johnny of Brookshire answered.

Simon of the Tenchi Clan phone began to ring while the others continued talking. He answered then got up from the table causing the other's to look in his direction.

Jesse of the Asante clan sat up. "Didn’t Stonewell have his eye's set on that new whore house in Vegas? That's all he kept talking about when I last saw him."

Simon hung up and sat down.

"Stonewell and his men were attacked at the steel warehouse a few months ago. He left town because the police special unit was involved. Detective Mack advised him to lay low for a while."

"Any word on who attacked him?" Jesse asked.

"See that's the thing, Stonewell kidnapped someone and in return he and his men got their asses kicked."

"So this wasn't a random ambush. He just picked the wrong people to mess with." Flynn sipped his drink.

"How many attacked him?" Jesse asked.

"They only got one guy on camera leaving the warehouse after the fight. Stonewell and his men were all found unconscious and fucked up pretty badly."

All four looked at each other….then Simon's phone buzzed.

He read the text message.

"The man that was kidnapped is Mr. Davis….Devin Davis."
